يلقي هذا الكتاب الأضواء الكاشفة علي تاريخ صلاح الدين الأيوبي في الفترة الزمنية من (1171- 1193م ) و ذلك من خلال وصيته إلي ابنه الظاهر غازي و كذلك تأثير كاريزميته ،وكذلك تاريخه المرضي. و يؤكد المؤلف أن صلاح الدين الذي رحل عن عالمنا فجر يوم الأربعاء الموافق 4 مارس من عام 1193 م، لا يزال متجدد الحضور بتاريخه الحافل، حيث نجح هذا البطل في قيادة الشرق خلال الحرب في العصور الوسطى، وصار فارس الأمة الإسلامية النبيل عصر الحروب الصليبية الذي قدره الأعداء قبل الأصدقاء علي نحو جعله أسطورة خالدة عبر القرون.
