هذه الرواية تسجل تاريخ حقبة من تاريخ السودان الحديث التي تمور بالأحداث والصراعات قبل وبعد انفصال الجنوب عن الشمال . والرواية تكتظ بالصور المليئة بالجماليات التي قلما تجدها إلا في الكتابات الناضجة وهي من الأساليب التي تحتفي بها الروايات الحديثة التي تنقلك من تقنية حديثة إلى أخرى منها هذا المنلوج الذي يعبر فيه الصديق عن انبهاره بصديقته: يا إلهي .. ما هذا الجسد الذي يكاد يتخلى عن جزئه الأعلى من كثرة التدافع الحركي الراقص... يطفح الصدر كفيضان النيل المتدفق من المرتفعات هذا الكفل المتكور كقبة الشيخ في قريتنا. لا يمل التحدي والشموخ والاعتداد .. لعله يستدعي مريديه فيهرعوا إليه... ومن منا لا يجنح للهرولة . إنني من المهرولين إلى هذا الجسد الأمهري.
