يطرح الكاتب في قصته هذه موضوعاً ملحاً هو على علاقة مباشرة بالسلوك الشبابي الذي تحكمه الأهواء والنزعات الغريزية بالحاج وما ذلك إلا بفعل ما انتشر في المجتمعات من أمراض مبعثها ذلك الإدمان بفعل المخدرات التي يتعاطها الشباب والذي يذهب بالعقول. يطرح الكاتب موضوعه هذا من خلال شخصية شاب منحرف قاده انحرافه إلى لقاء مصيره القاسي. والكاتب في ذلك يحاول أن تكون قصته عبرة لكل الشباب. قدم الكاتب ذلك بأسلوب شيق جمع بين روعة الأداء الأدبي بالإضافة إلى الأداء الفلسفي الذي يجعل من القصة عملاً قيماً يضاف إلى أعمال عبد الرحمن بدوي الأخرى.
