تتحدث الرواية عن فتاة عشرينية جعلت القلم متنفسا لها وحافظة لذكرياتها، فلما أبصرت منظرة أو موقفا كانت له فيها مذكرة دونها. في مذكرات عشرينية ستجدني أتساءل عن الأنا. وستجدني أتأمل في جلسة صفاء مع النفس. وستجدني أتساءل عن عدم فهم الآخرين لي أو لماذا حظي سيئ. وستجدني أتساءل لماذا لا أصل لهدفي. وستجدني حائرة أمام خزانة الملابس ! ستجد الشرق يخاطب الغرب. وستجد سیدتان يقفان أمام الباب يتحدثان. وستجدني أسامر الليل وأتساءل لماذا يسهر الناس. في مذكرات عشرينية، حالي كحال السائح والمقيم، فالمقيم في بلاده لا يلحظ جماليات المكان الذي يعيش فيه ولا يتأمله لأنه اعتاد عليه ولكن السائح يمضي بالمكان فيتأمله ويأخذ الصور لتكون له ذكرى يعود إليها وهذا حالي مع الأيام، أدون ما يمر بي وما ألاحظه من مواقف وتصورات وتأملات جمعتها في كتاب مذكرات عشرينية.
