ينقسم هذا الكتاب إلي ستة فصول يتناول الفصل الأول تناول فيه الإطار النظري لمصطلحات التحرير وبحث في الفصل الثاني ماهية وأشكال وحق ومشروعية المقاومة الوطنية وتناول في الفصل الثالث حركات التحرر الوطني وناقش في الفصل الرابع الخيارات الإستراتيجية للتحرير أما الفصل الخامس فقد بين فيه الدروس المستبطة من حرب تحرير الجزائر وحرب تحرير فيتنام بعد دراسة وقائع تلك التجربتين بالتفصيل واوضحت في الفصل السادس الاستشراق المستقبلي لتحرر العراق.
