يحكي لنا عن حياته وعن أصدقائه، ويأخذ القارئ من يديه في جولة تاريخية عبر مدينة بلجراد. فيحدثنا عن جنازة \"تيتو\" وعن نهر الدانوب وعن أشهر المغنيين وفرقة الاغتيالات التي ظهرت فجأة واختفت فجأة. وينسج بداخل كل تلك اللحظة التاريخية الواقعية خيوطًا خيالية. تلك الخيوط الخيالية هي قصته وقصص أصدقائه. صديقه \"باين\" الذي اقترح عليه أن يقيم حوارا مع \"بلجراد\" يمثل جيل ما بعد الحرب. الجيل الممزق بين الهروب والسفر إلى أمريكا حيث المال الوفير، أو البقاء لتعمير وطنهم الذي ظل يعاني من آثار الحرب لفترة طويلة.
