جاء هذا الكتاب ليكون أحد المراجع التي تساعد في استخدام علم الإحصاء في ميدان التربية حيث تكون الكتاب من سبع فصول تناول الفصل الأول منها نبذة عن علم الإحصاء ومراحل تطورة بالإضافة إلى بعض المفاهيم الإحصائية أما الفصول الثاني والثالث والرابع من هذا الكتاب فقد تناول بشيء من التفصيل المتواضع كلا من التوزيعات التكرارية والمقاييس الوصفية الإحصائية ممثلة بمقاييس النزعة المركزية ومقاييس التشتت. أما الفصل الخامس فقد تناول مفهوم الأرقام القياسية وطرق حسابها بإعتبارها أحد النماذج التطبيقية لإستخدام الإحصاء الوصفي وتناول الفصل السادس الارتباط والإنحدار الخطي ودراسة العلاقات الخطية ومدى ارتباط المتغيرات من خلال معامل الارتباط الخطي.
