يتحدث الكتاب عن \"سيكولوجية العنف\" وللعنف مظاهر شخصية تتجلى لدى الفرد، كامتهان الذات والفشل والانتحار ومظهر اجتماعي كالسب والشتم والسرقة والابتزاز والاغتصاب والقتل وهو يتجلى في شكله المؤسسي على شكل الأمية وأنواع الإقصاء والتهميش والتمييز بين الجنسين، كما يبدو منتشرا في المؤسسات التعليمية وفي مجال الأسـر وبين الأطفال فيما بينهم وفي مجال العمل وفي الشارع العام والمشكل أن النظم والمؤسسات التي يعول عليها في ترسيخ قيم الاحترام والتسامح والتعاون وتقبل الآخر، كالأسرة والمدرسة غدت بدورها تنتج وتوطن في نفوس الناشئة قيم المنافسة والتنافر والتناحر وهو ما ينتج عنه خسر الذات وخسر الآخر واستعمال مختلف أساليب الغش والعنف لبلوغ الأهداف بأرخص ثمن.
