Overview
في 23 من فبراير 1917 خرج ألوف من عاملات النسيج وربات البيوت إلى شوارع روسيا للاحتجاج على نقص الخبز وفي اليوم التالي أضرب أكثر من 200 ألف عامل وخرج المتظاهرون في مسيرات يرشقون الشرطة بالحجارة. وفي 26 من فبراير تلقى الجنود أوامر بضرب حشود المتظاهرين بالرصاص، وفي الصباح التالي تمردت عدة وحدات عسكرية. وبحلول الأول من مارس احتشد 170 ألف جندي يهاجمون السجون ومراكز الشرطة، ويدمرون رموز العبودية القيصرية التي لم تصمد سوى 12 يوما فقط في وجه الثورة.
