\"الإمارات العربية والخط الجوي البريطاني إلى الشرق\" في كتابها هذا بحثت الدكتورة فاطمة الصايغ في فترة تاريخية مهمة من فترات العلاقات الإماراتية البريطانية ولعلها أهمها وهي فترة ما بين الحربين العالميتين الأولى والثانية إذ فيها ضعفت الإمارات بشكل كبير بسبب الإنهيار الاقتصادي الذي تعرضت له نتيجة لإنهيار تجارة اللؤلؤ في الوقت الذي بدت فيه بشائر مصادر اقتصادية أخرى ممثلة بامتيازات المطارات الجوية واحتمال ظهور النفط بكميات تجارية وهما المصدرات اللذان كان الإنجليز يمسكون بزمامهما.
