نحن اليوم في صدد زعيم من هؤلاء الزعماء العرب الذين عملوا للوحدة العربية ونادوا بالجامعة الإسلامية منذ ثلاثين سنة وجاهدوا في سبيلها هو \" الأمير شكيب أرسلان\" ولد في الثلث الأخير من القرن التاسع عشر وظل يعمل خمسين سنة في ميادين النشاط السياسي والفكري والأدبي قضاها في بلاده وغير بلاده فكانت منه أعمال كثيرة شغلت معاصريه في هذه النواحي جميعا فكان سياسيا وكان أديبا شاعرا وناثرا وكان زعيما من زعماء الفكر العربي وكان لابد بعد أن سكن جثمانه الكريم في التراب أن يسكن غبار المعركة في شأنه وأن يقوم العرب والمسلمون في الحديث عما خلف لهم من خير ومن فضل وأن يبسطوا ما كان له من يد على جيلنا الماضي وأن يذكروا شجاعته ونضاله وكفاحه في نواحي حياتنا.
