يقول العطار في \"الدهر\" إن أحداثه تجري في سوريا بين شهري أيلول وكانون الأول 2011. الكاميرا عنوان سوريا 2011، سوريا التي صورت نفسها حين خرجت نحو الحرية الضالة، نحو ضالتها... حين تحول السوريون إلى شعب الكاميرا، حين سأل السوريون سوريا أن تتطلع إلى الكاميرا. حين صوت السوريون بالصورة في أول استفتاء عبر تاريخهم المعاصر، اختاروا الحرية- صوتوا لها. أنقذ السوريون حكاية الضحية من الفناء. أريكة جلدية وكاميرا... وشاشة... وصوت... يمنح العطار \"الكاميرا\" معنى خاصا يكمن في عدم النظر إليها فيفتح معناها... ينحى بها عن مسمياتها التقنية، فندخل صندوقها الافتراضي الأسود... ونؤلف الأمكنة. هي العدسة... ما سرها؟... التوثيق... خطوة أولى لتلمس إنسانيتنا... لنسأل الوثيقة وتسألنا... لنتحرر.
