ينقسم الكتاب إلى جزءين يتناول الجزء الأول والمعنون به الكتاب \"السلفية بين الأصيل والدخيل\"، أما الجزء الثاني فجاء عنوانه \"مفاهيم دينية مغلوطة\" في محاولة من الكاتب لتصحيح هذه المفاهيم حسبما يتفق ورؤيته العلمية ويخلص المؤلف في هذا الكتاب الإرهاب من حيث معناه السياسي أو الدولي أو إرهاب الدولة وملامحه جريمة تحرمها نصوص الشريعة الإسلامية وقواعدها، والإنسان المسلم لا يجوز إرهابه، فهو معصوم الدم والعرض والمال فلا يجوز الاعتداء عليه، سواء كان حاكما أو محكوم، والإنسان غير المسلم لا يجوز إرهابه إذا كان مسالما للمسلمين وموادعًا لهم، غير طاعن في الإسلام وكذلك إذا كان معاهدا أو مستأمنا.
