يمهد محمد العزب موسى لكتاب \"الحشاشون، فرقة ثوريّة في تاريخ الإسلام\" بالتنبيه إلى أهمية اطلاع الباحث العربي على هذا الجانب المغيب من تاريخ الحضارة العربية الإسلامية في عصرها الوسيط في الفترة الممتدة ما بين القرنين الخامس والسابع للهجرة (الموافق للقرنين الحادي عشر والثالث عشرة ميلادي) إبان تشكل هذه الطائفة الإسماعيلية الفاطمية النزارية بعد انشقاقها عن الدولة الفاطمية واعتصامها بجبال \"آلموت\" شمال إيران وبعد دعوتها إلى إمامة نزار بن المستنصر بالله ومن جاء مِن نسله.
