يعرف معظم الناس كلمة الرياضة وفقا لخبراتهم ومعلوماتهم ويعتقد الكثير أن الرياضة هي المرح فقط بينما أن الرياضة في نفس الوقت قد تعني العمل أو وظيفة (الإحتراف)، السياحة الرياضية، الأعمال التجارية، لذلك نجد أن الرياضة أشكال عديدة ويتوقف نجاح الهيئات الرياضية في تحقيق أهدافها على مستوى وكفاءة من يقوم على إدارتها ولذلك نشأة برامج التنمية البشرية لإعداد القادة الإداريين الرياضيين بمختلف نوعياتهم بالقدر الذي يتناسب مع حجم العمل الذي يقومون به وفي المجال الرياضي تتطلب إدارة الموارد البشرية بعدين لنجاحها، البعد الأول هو المورد البشري في حد ذاته من حيث الإنتقاء والتكوين والتدريب والتأهيل والبعد الثاني هو إتصالي بين الإدارة والمدرب واللاعبين.
