يتحدث الكتاب عن القوة المغناطيسية والجاذبية الأرضية من حيث فوائد كلا منهما واستخداماته المتعددة في حياتنا، مثل توليد الكهرباء من المغناطيس وعلاقة الجاذبية بالمغناطيس وتحدث الكتاب عن العالم \"هانز أوستد\" وتجربته حول توليد الكهرباء من المجال المغناطيسي، كما تحدث الكتاب عن أهم علماء القرن العشرين، مثل \"فاراداي \" وهو من اكتشف التأثير الكهرومغناطيسي وما زال هذا الاكتشاف يستخدم إلى الآن في إشارات المرور الضوئية وعمل المولدات الكهربية. ثم تحدث الكتاب عن العالم \"جوزيف هنري\" وأهم أعماله، مثل جهاز \"التلغراف\" وكذلك تحدث الكتاب عن العالم \"نيوتن\" من خلال حادثة (نيوتن والتفاحة) حيث ذكر أسرار الجاذبية الأرضية. ثم ذكر الكتاب العالم الإيطالي \"جاليليو\" وأبرز اكتشافاته وهو \"منظار جاليليو\"
