يتناول كتاب (الإعجاب الإنساني) انه لا يوجد لمحة ما بين الجمال والجاذبية. فالجاذبية حالة بيولوجية مسجلة في خصوصيات الإنسان بقبول الآخر شعوريا بدل رفضه مسنا كان أم طفلا ذكرا كان أم أنثى ومن كل زمان وفي كل مكان. وهو في الحقيقة من مرتكنات الدماغ القديم من انجذاب ونفور بوجود الحظوة أو انعدامها. الجاذبية حالة مسجلة على غصن تطور الإنسان وسابقة لتطور إدراكه وهي اليوم لاحقة به في شطحاته. إن موضوع الجاذبية معقد عندما يطرح بالقراءة النفسية وهو في غاية الإثارة عندما نأخذه على خلفية بيولوجية.
