يبحث هذا الكتاب موضوع الحضانة في الشريعة الإسلامية ,بعض القوانين الوضعية وقوانين الأحوال الشخصية وفي الديانتين المسيحية واليهودية لما للحضانة من أهمية، فالباب الأول فيه جاء ليناقش الحقيقة الشرعية والقانونية للحضانة وأركانها وسقوطها وانتهائها، أما الباب الثاني فيبحث في الأحكام المتعلقة بالحضانة، مكانها والانتقال بالمحضون ومشاهدة المحضون والمقصود بالرؤية وآثارها وفي أجرة الحضانة وسكن المحضون وأجرة السكن ومدى وجوب تهيئته، مشيرا في هذا المجال إلى بعض القوانين الأوروبية للوقوف على بعض أحكامها.
