الهدف من هذا الكتاب هو تقديم دراسة منهجية مقارنة لآراء وطروحات مذهب الشيعة الإمامية الإثني عشرية دون تقييد أو تحديد بآراء وطروحات المذاهب الأخرى به ونقدهم له إلا ما استلزم رده أو استحكم نقضه أو استوجب التعليق عليه من العقائد والنصوص والثوابت والمبادئ والأصول التي عليها إجماع المسلمين أو أغلبهم كما أن الهدف من هذا الكتاب يمنع من التغاضي عن مأخذ أو خلل أو إستفهام في عقائد الشيعة الإمامية الإثني عشرية وصولا إلى الغاية المنشودة وإن التقريب بين المذاهب والأديان يلزم بالضرورة أن يتغاضى كل طرف عما يمكن التغاضي عنه عن مأخذ أو هفوات الطرف الآخر.
