إن كتابة تاريخ الفتح العربي لمصر لم يعالج-من قبل المؤلف-على أنه حادث منقطع العلاقة بسائر حوادث التاريخ بل على أنه حادث لا يظهر خطره ولا تتضح حقيقته إلا إذا قرن بالأحداث التاريخية الكبرى التي ساقت دولتي الروم والفرس القديمتين إلى الأصطدام بالدولة العربية الناشئة إن الروح العادلة التي حدت بالمؤلف إلى نصرة الحق في جانب أمة القبط حدت به كذلك إلى نصرة الحق في جانب أمة العرب فلم يحاول أن يخفي من فضائلها شيئا أو يعكر من صفو سيرتها في مدة فتح مصر بل كان عادلا في وصف الأفراد والمجموع إن هذا الكتاب له قيمة خاصة لسبب آخر فوق ما سبق لنا بيانه وذلك أن تواريخ العرب وفتوحهم لم يتناولها إلى الآن كاتب حصر همه في ميدان محدود وبحث فيه بحثا مستفيضا كما فعل مؤلف هذا الكتاب.
