تدور أحداث الرواية حول الساحر الذي لم يكن في نيته أن يقدم لعبة الساعة فقد كانت هذه اللعبة محفوفة بالخطر لأن استدعاءه أحد المتفرجين للاشتراك معه فيها كان أحيانا يفسد اللعبة وهى تعتمد على وسط المتفرجين وعلى الجو السائد فبعض الشبان لهم أن يبينوا لرفاقهم أنهم لا يخدعون أبدا فقد حدث أثناء حفل اقامه أنطوان في إحدى القرى أن انتزع جزار غطاء المنضدة فجأة وانفجر ضاحكا إذ كشف ذلك الجيب من الفلين وفيه الأرانب الحية وبدأت فتاة تفتي بين مجموعة من الفتيات وكان أنطوان المحترف الوحيد في البرنامج أما الجزء الأول من هذا البرنامج فقد قدمه أعضاء النادي.
