الموسوعة تضم مواد عديدة مفيدة، غير أن التقييم الفعلي لها أنها كتبت وفق رؤية لا تجاري المتغيرات الحالية في حقل المكتبات ولذا فهي كانت بحاجة إلى تحديث بعض موادها وإضافة مواد أخرى، فالمؤلف لم يكن على إحاطة بأهمية المصادر الرقمية في عالمنا ولا دور المكتبات الرقمية وبالرغم من هذا فإن هذه الموسوعة تظل لها فائدة لأهمية التأليف باللغة العربية في هذا الحقل المعرفي. بذل المؤلف جهودا مضنية في تعريفات مداخل الموسوعة، معظمها كان وافيا وقليل منها كان في حاجة إلى المزيد.
