إن الفلسفة كتساؤل جذري، تتعلق بقلق ملازم للفكر. ينبغي من أجل التفلسف العثور على بساطة الأسئلة الطفولية وجسارتها والدهشة البريئة تجاه الموت والعنف والحب. تتطلب الفلسفة هكذا بعض الوقاحة : عدم الخوف من الرأي، من أجل الجرأة على طرح الأسئلة المحرمة... وعدم الخوف من الذات من أجل المخاطرة في رهبة الشك. إن بنية المؤلف بسيطة ومنفتحة على قراءات عدة. القسم الأول منه يقدم نصوصا رئيسية بشكل مجموعات لكتاب بطريقة تسلسل زمني. أربعة كتاب كبار يشكلون الأساس و يضيء القسم الثاني، الموضوعات، بدوره القسم الأول : إن استثمار النص نفسه في مناظير مختلفة يسمح بفهم أفضل.
