إن الكتاب يعلم فن الكتابة الصحيحة بأسلوب شائق فيه جاذبية وفائدة للطالب كما للكاتب ؛ وهو للكتابة والإنشاء بمنزلة علم العمارة للبناء، يضم الكتاب بابين : خصص أولهما لفن اختيار المفردات الصحيحة، وثانيهما لفن كتابة الجملة الصحيحة، ويعتمد النصوص التطبيقية، ومئات الأمثلة المستقاة من الأدب الراقي الحديث والقديم. وقد تناول المؤلف في الأول ينابيع اللغة العربية، موضحا أن المفردات الأكثر التصاقا بفطرة الإنسان وأحاسيسه الأولية هي الأوفر حرارة، كما عالج أوزان الأفعال في دلالاتها ووظائفها الغنية، ثم أفاض في تبيين دقائق المعاني والمطابقة بين الألفاظ مما غفلت عنه المعاجم.
