قسم جوردون كتابه إلى 14 قسما تحدث فيها عن الفنانين المسرحيين في المستقبل، حيث طالب بإنشاء جيل جديد منهم يتم تربيته في دور المسرح وأن يسرح جميع العاملين القدامى من مخرجين وممثلين وعمال إلى منازلهم، لأنهم أساس الفساد في الفن المسرحي وألقى كريج على عائق الجيل الجديد الذي سيتم تربيته من الشباب مهمة إصلاح وتجديد الفكر المسرحي في أوروبا وغيرها من قارات العالم، بشرط أن يسعوا إلى تنفيذ نصائحه والتي تتلخص في الطاعة العمياء لمديري المسارح مع عدم إلغاء الشخصية ودراسة كل صغيرة وكبيرة داخل المسرح وخارجه ودراسة حرفة التمثيل دراسة عميقة وقد وضع كريج فصلا كاملا عن الممثل ثم تحدث المؤلف عن المخرج المسرحي وقد هاجم التمثيل في المسرح التجاري وأفرد المؤلف فصلا عن (الممثل ومسرح الدمى)
