هذا الكتاب هو حلقة من سلسلة الجهود الجديدة التي تزيدنا معرفة بمدينة القدس في فترة مهمة من تاريخها تربو عن المائتي سنة، فترة كان واسطة عقدها تحرير صلاح الدين الأيوبي للقدس بعد احتلال فرنجي دام ثماني وثمانين سنة والحقائق الواردة في الكتاب جديرة بأن تذكرها ونتذكرها في هذه الأيام بشكل خاص. فالجيل القديم سيستذكر من هذا الكتاب مما نسيه منها والجيل الجديد من الشباب سيجد أشياء كثيرة جديدة عليه وستساعد معرفة الماضي على الانطلاق على أساس من العلم والمعرفة بخطى ثابتة سديدة في العمل من أجل المستقبل.
