جاءت دراسة حصة عبد الله مرخان الإجتبي عبر كتاب « القصيدة المغتربة في الشعر الإماراتي المعاصر» الذي أوضح أن بروز ظاهرة الاغتراب في الشعر الإماراتي المعاصر يقر حقيقة أن المجتمع الإماراتي تربة خصبة للتناقضات والمفارقات التي أوقعت الشاعر الإماراتي في دائرة الاغتراب لا سيما وأن لديه من الحساسية والفكر الواعي ما يجعله يملك بدرجة ما القدرة على استخلاص ذاته من «اليومي» و«المألوف» و« الراسخ بقوة الأمر الواقع»، ليستهجن ويرفض ويتمرد ومن هذا المنطلق أكدت نتائج دراسة الإجتبي أن مشاعر الاغتراب ارتبطت ارتباطا وثيقا بالشعراء وتجلت في تجاربهم كما أفلح هؤلاء الشعراء في أن يبدعوا ما يمكن أن نستخلص منه صورة خاصة للاغتراب في الشعر الإماراتي.
