يتناول المؤلف الدراسات العربية في أربعة بلدان أوروبية هي بريطانيا وإيطاليا وإسبانيا وألمانيا الاتحادية وذلك على ضوء واقع الاتصال الحضاري بين الشرق والغرب مما أدى إلى نشوء هذه الدراسات في أوروبا وتطورها بحيث أضحت ذات أثر بارز اليوم لا يمكن تجاهله وقد عرض المؤلف من خلال هذه الدراسات أعمال المستشرقين الإنكليز الإيطاليين والأسبان والألمان مبرزا أهم ما قدموه في مجال اللغة العربية والدين وغاية المؤلف من وراء ذلك تبيان ما قدمه هؤلاء للحضارة العربية من خدمات آملا أن يستحث همم العرب أنفسهم للإقدام على دراسة تراثهم الزاخر.
