Overview
يشتمل هذا الكتاب على مقدمة وأربعة فصول وخاتمة ؛ يتناول المؤلف في المقدمة ما يتضمنه كتابه بإيجاز ؛ يعرض في الفصل الأول-حياة الشاعر(725-776 هجري) بكل ملابساتها وعلائقها الروحية والمادية، فتحدث عن نشأته ؛ ونسبه وثقافته وأخلاقه ومعارضته للشاعر المتصوف عمر بن الفارض(576-632 هجري)، ثم مؤلفاته، جاء الفصل الثاني بعنوان (موضوعات شعره) ؛ بدأها بالمديح النبوي، ثم أتبعها بالأغراض الرئيسية كـ: الغزل بنوعيه المذكر والمؤنث والمدح والوصف وأغراض أخرى، أما الفصل الثالث ؛ فتناول (الصور البيانية) وركز على فني التشبيه والاستعارة، ثم فن التشكيل البديعي وعرض للفنون البديعية (التورية، الطباق، المقابلة، الجناس) وفي الفصل الرابع يعالج الكاتب موسيقا الشعر ويركز على الموسيقا الخارجية المتمثلة في الوزن والقافية وأهم البحور الشعرية التي نظم الشاعر عليها ديوانه.
