هذا الكتاب (مدخل إلى أولمبياد ومسابقات الرياضيات) متكامل ذاتيا ويمكن استخدامه مادة تدريبية للمسابقات ومرجعا عاما لهواة القراءة والإطلاع لمن لديهم خلفية في الرياضيات. في جزئه الأول، نقدم مراجعة لما درسه الطالب في المدرسة الثانوية من نظريات وقوانين في فروع الرياضيات الرئيسة، تؤهله لحل المسائل الواردة في الجزء الثاني والمشاركة في مسابقات الرياضيات المحلية، وتعطيه فكرة أفضل عن مسابقات الرياضيات الدولية. يحتوي الكتاب في جزئه الثاني على مئة وعشرين مسألة محاولة تم اختيارها بعناية من مسابقات عالمية مرموقة ومراجع متخصصة، روعي فيها مستوى الطلاب في المدارس الثانوية.
