The piled rafts are expressed as consisting of three geotechnical elements (piles, raft, and soil). As the load can be divided between the piles and the raft, the piles are highly effective in reducing settling and increasing the bearing capacity of the piled rafts, compared to shallow foundations. Civil engineering is witnessing a development in the field of geotechnical engineering, and because the experimental study takes a long time to verify, so the numerical study was conducted by the program MIDAS GTS NX 2020 (v1.1) for comparison with the experimental study. Small-scale models were tested in a sandbox placed in an iron structure containing a hydraulic jack with a capacity of 50 tons, and then, a vertical load was placed in the center of the raft; the bearing capacity was recorded by the load cell, the settlement was recorded by the dial gauge digital and the LVDT, in this study, the number of piles (9) was taken hollow aluminium, the diameter of piles (25) mm, and length of pile (500) mm. They were distributed under the raft by (3 × 3). The distance between the piles was taken by three-dimensional (3D) of the pile, and the dimensions of the raft were 250 mm × 250 mm, with a thickness of 20 mm. Numerical modelling was also used in the MIDAS GTS NX 2020(v1.1) program to solve the problem of the piled raft system for modelling and analysis. 3D models were analyzed using a sandy soil model with a raft of iron 250 mm × 250 mm and a thickness of 20 mm using piles of hollow aluminium with a length of 500 mm and a diameter of 25 mm and the number 3 × 3. As well as taking the criteria (Cullum-Mohr) and (von Mises). It was shown that the numerical study could be relied upon in the field of geotechnical engineering, where the percentages of convergence between the two studies were up to 91% in the piled raft test and 89% in the raft test only.

2019
The variable selection (VS) characteristic was considered very important in the data analysis. Regularization technique is one gorgeous way that has proven effective for dealing with high dimensional data. In previous years, statistical researchers have made great efforts in developing procedures of regularization to solved problems of VS. In this paper, we have proposed a new technique for model selection in Binary regression. This technique is Bayesian adaptive Lasso Binary regression (BALBR). It has many features that give optimum estimation and VS property. Specifically, we introduced a new hierarchal model. Then, a new Gibbs sampler method is introduced. We also extend the new approach by adding the ridge parameter inside the variance-covariance matrix to avoid the singularity in case of multicollinearity or in case the number of observations less than the number of predictors. A comparison was made with other previous techniques applying the simulation examples and real data. It is worth mentioning, that the obtained results were promising and encouraging, giving better results compared to the previous methods.

This research was designed for the purpose of studying the effect of 5 periods of exposure to infrared radiation (0,5,10,20 and 30) minutes on the product of phenotypic mutations of housefly: musca domestica by calculating the percentage of abnormalities, which included distortions of wings and tentacles, small body size, depreciation rate and rate emergence rate for adults. The results showed that the infrared radiation had significant effects in causing deformations, especially in the period 20 and 30 minutes, while the exposure periods caused clear effects in the larval mortality, where the highest mortality rate reached 72% for the period 30 minutes. While this rate decreased to 15% and 19% for periods 5 and 10 min. respectively, and thus formed significant differences as a compared with the control group, while the lowest percentage of emergence was 18% at period 30, which led to a decrease in rate of adults emerging.

Governance in the Middle East and North Africa
2013
Governance in the Middle East is a major topic of interest to scholars, activists and policy-makers. The purpose of this volume is to shed light on the contemporary challenges of governance in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and to provide an up-to-date account in historical perspective of the political changes currently under way in the region. With analysis of issues including resources and governance, women's rights, radicalization and political economy, and with the inclusion of country case studies looking at the democratic process unfolding in Iraq, the debate over reform in Iran, the South-North conflict in Yemen and the question of political transition in Egypt and Libya, this book is invaluable to those interested in Middle Eastern affairs. It aims to present the first comprehensive framework of the question of governance in the Middle East in its various forms and manifestations.
The Handbook consists of two parts:
Part I provides a theoretical and thematic framework for the mutual influence between governance factors such as economics, trade, culture, social conditions, religion and the status of women.
Part II examines individual case studies in 19 countries and territories of the Middle East. Each case study is written by a leading regional expert and sheds light on the particular challenges to governance in the country in question.
The chapters in this volume follow a variety of research methodologies, depending on the topic of each chapter and the contributor's field of research. This volume offers the most comprehensive and timely reading in the field of MENA governance, and will be an invaluable resource for students, researchers and policy-makers, and for those with a general interest in the region.

Residential mobility plays a vital role in raising urban growth and expansion. Basrah city witnessed a residential movement of many families, whether from the same neighborhood or others. This movement is motivated by several factors effectively. Several families move from one place to another, influenced by a set of motives that encouraged the movement. However, research on the motivations and drivers behind residential movement is limited. Thus, the study aims at determining drivers of residential mobility in Basrah city in 2023. It applies statistical analysis (SPSS.V.28) and methods of geographical information systems (GIS) in order to measure the drivers behind the residential mobility. The results show that several households move within the same neighborhood or between other ones due to various reasons such as an increase in family size or income, a desire to move to large house, high-cost rent, a change of marital status (marriage), a desire to move closer to family and relatives or to schools of sons or the workplace, a suffer from car parking that is located near sources of pollution and neighborhood dissatisfaction.

Given the rapid spread of fake news across digital platforms, there is a pressing need for a reliable and efficient detection method. Current ensemble learning models often lack optimal weight tuning, limiting their performance in fake news classification tasks. To address this gap, we propose a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-optimized ensemble model that integrates Support Vector Machines (SVM), Naive Bayes, and Random Forest (RF) classifiers using a soft voting strategy. Text data is preprocessed and transformed into numerical features using TF-IDF vectorization. The dataset, derived from the ISOT Fake News corpus, is split into training (80%) and testing (20%) subsets. Each base classifier is individually trained and evaluated, followed by the construction and assessment of an unoptimized voting ensemble. Subsequently, PSO is employed to fine-tune the weights of the base classifiers within the voting ensemble, enhancing overall prediction performance. The optimized model achieves 98.32% accuracy and an F1-score of 98.33%, outperforming both the unoptimized ensemble and standalone classifiers, as well as surpassing several state-of-the-art methods. This approach not only improves detection accuracy but also offers a scalable, interpretable, and effective solution to the fake news problem. Performance is evaluated using standard metrics such as ROC curves and confusion matrices, providing a comprehensive assessment of the model’s reliability.

The sports industry's performance in any nation relies on the performance of its players. The performance of soccer players in Iraq and the performance of the sports industry are declining. This study aims to examine the relationship between psychological capital, psychological empowerment, and sports anxiety in Iraqi soccer players. This study gathered quantitative data from Iraqi soccer players competing at the local, national, and international levels. This study employs partial least square – structural equation modeling to test its hypotheses. In addition, the purpose of this research is to enhance the performance of the sports industry in Iraq. This study revealed that psychological capital, psychological empowerment, and sports anxiety had a substantial impact on the success of the Iraqi sports business. This study introduced a new framework and substantially contributed to the corpus of knowledge. This study's theoretical and practical ramifications are equally noteworthy for enhancing the performance of the Iraqi sports business. This study's future directions would be useful for exploring future gaps in the literature.
