Type of the article: Research Article Abstract Customer loyalty is a pressing priority and strategic imperative in the Jordanian hotel sector. With the rapid technological transformation in consumer behavior, social media marketing activities have emerged as a tool for engaging with hotel guests and building long-term relationships. This paper aims to explore the impact of Social Media Marketing activities (SMM activities) on brand loyalty through the mediating role of brand love and brand trust in the five-star hotel sector. The study adopted a quantitative design, employing a descriptive correlational approach to examine the relationship between study variables. Data were collected from June 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024, using a structured online questionnaire from guests of five-star hotels in Jordan, in Amman. A purposive sample was used to select hotel guests, using social media platforms for 280 respondents. The questionnaire was designed to measure the variables of the study. Statistical analysis was conducted using Smart PLS to test the hypotheses. The study results indicate a significant impact of social media marketing activities (β = 0.299, p < 0.001) on brand loyalty, as well as the mediating role of brand trust (β = 0.09, p < 0.001) and brand love (β = 0.18, p < 0.001) in mediating the relationship between marketing activities and customer loyalty. The results also revealed a positive relationship between social media marketing activities and brand loyalty in the hotel sector. The results also indicate that brand love and trust mediate the relationship between social media marketing activities and brand loyalty, enhancing brand loyalty in the hotel industry. AcknowledgmentThe authors would like to thank all the participants involved in this research work, and the authors are grateful to the Philadelphia University, Amman, Jordan for the financial support granted to cover the publication fee of this article.

[...]the public in Jordan has experienced tensions over water shortage even before the arrival of refugees from Syria in the last ten years (Kaarud Mansour Mohamed, 2020). [...]applying a high price strategy to manage household water demand would perceive as socially inequitable and politically argumentative (Molle, Venot, & Hassan, 2008; Hawamleh et al.,2020). [...]social marketing campaigns may be the solution where the ultimate goal is voluntary behavior change to decrease water consumption, this provides the potential to foster sustainable consumption of a progressively scarce, yet essential resource (Lowe, Lynch, & Lowe, 2015; Ngah et al., 2021). According to Frederiks, Stenner, and Hobman (2015), interventions must link public awareness, behavior change, incentives, and conservation with sustainable strategies for national development. According to French and Blair-Stevens (2010), social marketing must-have core elements components which include: the ultimate goal for social marketing must be achieving behavioral change; obtaining targeted audience insight is necessary to gain an in-depth understanding about what inspires and moves the individual to change their behavior; segmenting customers into different groups that have similar features to design a suitable message which matches the segment's needs; providing the target audience with something beneficial in return for exchanging with the proposing; Considering competition by providing benefits which best distinguish healthy options from the competing behaviors; applying a full marketing mix when designing social marketing program; and finally, by applying theory, interventions are more likely to create more success.

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawzīyah, Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr, 1292-1350. Iʻlām al-muwaqqiʻīn fī rabb al-ʻālamīn
2013
This book offers a new translation of a large extract from the book I’lam al Muwaqqi’in ‘An Rabb al ’Alamin, by the thirteenth-century Islamic scholar, Ibn Qayyim al Jawziyya. The I’lam comprises an in-depth discussion of the subject of taqlīd, or legal imitation, and is one of the most comprehensive treatments of Islamic legal theory and serves as a manual for mujtahids and muftis. In this translated portion of the I’lam, Ibn Qayyim first introduces the nature of taqlīd and divides it into several categories. It then provides an account of a debate between a critic of the view that taqlīd of a particular school or a scholar is a religious duty and this critic’s interlocutor. Among the topics discussed are the different kinds of taqlīd, the differences between taqlīd and ittibi’, the infallibility of religious scholars, the grounds on which one legal opinion might be preferred over another, and whether or not laymen can be expected to perform ijtihad. Ibn Qayyim’s legal theory is a formidable reformulation of traditionalist Hanbalism—a legal-theological tradition which has always maintained a distinctive character in Islamic history—and which is now growing more influential due to modern interest in the Wahhabi movement and in Ibn Taymiyya, whose legal and theological thought was best edited and refined by his student, Ibn Qayyim. The introduction to this book critically reviews the scholarship on taqlīd and outlines Ibn Qayyim’s legal theory and the importance of taqlīd within it. Taqlīd continues to generate controversy amongst educated Muslims and particularly academics, as Salafi interpretations of Islam, which are generally “anti-taqlīd,” come into conflict with the generally “pro-taqlīd” stance of traditional schools such as the Hanafis.
The Politicisation of Islam
1998,2018
The Politicisation of Islam: A Case Study of Tunisia traces the emergence, rise, and recent eclipse of the modern Tunisian Islamic movement, al-Nahda, and provides a comprehensive analysis of its political, social, and intellectual discourse. The first two chapters concentrate on the factors behind the emergence of al-Nahda and its policisation. The three major confrontations between the movement and the Tunisian regime, which culminated in 1991 in the banning of all al-Nahda activities inside Tunisia, is explored in Chapter Three. The author discusses the basic concepts of political Islam in the movement's literature in Chapter Four, in paticular the Islamists' rejection of secularism, and al-Nahda's proposal for a modern Islamic state in Chapter Five. In the concluding chapter, the author addresses the Islamists' cultural agenda and their insistence on an Islamic identity for Tunisia.
The Flourishing of Islamic Reformism in Iran
2005,2004
During the 1940s and 1950s, Islamic reformism flourished in Iran. This book examines how Iranian Islamic groups came to rethink traditional accounts of religion and nurture a politicized version of Islam. The author shows how similar social and political circumstances, but different family and educational backgrounds gave rise to socialist, democratic/scientific and fundamentalist/militant reinterpretations of Islam. What was common among these groups was a tendency towards politicizing the religion. A significant contribution to discussions of contemporary political thought in Iran, this book will be of interest to researchers and academics of Islamic political though and Iranian politics and history.
Seyed Mohammad Ali Taghavi completed his PhD in Political Theory at the University of Hull, after obtaining BA and MA degrees in Politics at the University of Tehran. His research interests include political theory, cultural difference, and politics and society in the Middle East.

Emergency medicine in the United Arab Emirates
It has been a decade since emergency medicine was recognized as a specialty in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In this short time, emergency medicine has established itself and developed rapidly in the UAE. Large, well-equipped emergency departments (EDs) are usually located in government hospitals, some of which function as regional trauma centers. Most of the larger EDs are staffed with medically or surgically trained physicians, with board-certified emergency medicine physicians serving as consultants overseeing care. Prehospital care and emergency medical services (EMS) operate under the auspices of the police department. Standardized protocols have been established for paramedic certification, triage, and destination decisions. The majority of ambulances offer basic life support (BLS/Type 2) with a growing minority offering advanced life support (ALS/Type 3). Medicine residency programs were established 5 years ago and form the foundation for training emergency medicine specialists for UAE. This article describes the full spectrum of emergency medicine in the UAE: prehospital care, EMS, hospital-based emergency care, training in emergency medicine, and disaster preparedness. We hope that our experience, our understanding of the challenges faced by the specialty, and the anticipated future directions will be of importance to others advancing emergency medicine in their region and across the globe.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
