Celex Group, Inc., (Nasdaq: CLXG), the specialty retail and catalog company that designs, manufactures and markets proprietary products for business and personal motivation under the SUCCESSORIES(R) Trademark, today announced that Mr. James M. Beltrame, has joined the Company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. His appointment is effective immediately. After beginning his career at Arthur Young, Mr. Beltrame joined Hyatt International Corporation in 1974, where he served as Vice President of Finance and Planning. In 1984, he was hired by Restaurant Associates in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer for this 110 unit, $240,000,000 corporation. Working with major banks and lending institutions, he negotiated financing for a leveraged buy-out by management in 1987 and its sale to an international operator a few years later. In 1992, he joined RTO Enterprises as Chief Financial Officer and was charged with responsibility for increasing profitability for their 122 unit, $82,000,000 national retail chain. During the past three years, his management of their financial affairs was instrumental in establishing new systems and controls which significantly improved profits. (excerpt)

Celex Signs Distribution Pact With ATT

CELEX Group, Inc., the publicly held creator and marketer of proprietary products for personal and business motivation, said today it concluded a product distribution agreement with American Telephone & Telegraph Corp. which could add some $2 million to CELEX annual sales, which are projected to reach $12 million in the fiscal year ending April 30, 1993. Mac Anderson, president and chief executive officer, said that CELEX formed a partnership with AT&T to distribute the CELEX 48 page Successories catalog to some 40,000 AT&T decision makers including customer service and quality managers, sales managers, office managers, human resource managers, division managers and supervisors. CELEX Group, Inc., the publicly held creator and marketer of proprietary products for personal and business motivation, today said that revenues for the fiscal year ended April 30, 1992, of $5,736,992 represented a substantial improvement in its continuing businesses over fiscal 1991's adjusted $3,888,000. The earlier year contained $1,700,000 of sales from a business divested at the beginning of fiscal 1992. Net income in the most recent year of $101,801, was equal to 6 cents per share. An operating loss of $91,795 as a result of substantial legal and development expenditures for structuring the company's new business-to-business Successories franchise program was offset by other income, including a gain on the sale of previous businesses.
