تدور أحداث الرواية حول الحياة الشخصية لواحدة من أكثر نساء العالم شهرة، وهي الجاسوسة الهولندية إبان الحرب العالمية الأولى ماتا هاري. يبدأ الكتاب بخطاب كتبته ماتا عام 1917 قبل أسبوع من إعدامها في باريس، بتهمة التجسس خلال الحرب العالمية الأولى. اعتمد كويلو في كتابه على العديد من المواد الأرشيفية الفرنسية التي أصدرت خلال العشرين عاما الماضية. وذكر كويلو أن “ماتا واحدة من النساء التي تخطت توقعات الذكور لها، واستطاعت أن تعيش حياة غير تقليدية”. وتعتبر ماتا هاري، وهو الاسم الفني الذي اشتهرت به “مارجاريتا جريتشي”، أشهر جاسوسة في التاريخ الحديث؛ إذ كانت راقصة لدى رجال الطبقة العليا من المجتمع، تم إعدامها من قبل الفرنسيين رميا بالرصاص بتهمة التجسس عليهم لمصلحة ألمانيا خلال الحرب العالمية الأولى.
Classification of osseointegrated implant surfaces: materials, chemistry and topography
Since the founding of the osseointegration concept, the characteristics of the interface between bone and implant, and possible ways to improve it, have been of particular interest in dental and orthopaedic implant research. Making use of standardized tools of analysis and terminology, we present here a standardized characterization code for osseointegrated implant surfaces. This code describes the chemical composition of the surface, that is, the core material, such as titanium, and its chemical or biochemical modification through impregnation or coating. This code also defines the physical surface features, at the micro- and nanoscale, such as microroughness, microporosity, nanoroughness, nanotubes, nanoparticles, nanopatterning and fractal architecture. This standardized classification system will allow to clarify unambiguously the identity of any given osseointegrated surface and help to identify the biological outcomes of each surface characteristic.
Praziquantel Treatment Decreases Schistosoma mansoni Genetic Diversity in Experimental Infections
Schistosomiasis has a considerable impact on public health in many tropical and subtropical areas. In the new world, schistosomiasis is caused by the digenetic trematode Schistosoma mansoni. Chemotherapy is the main measure for controlling schistosomiasis, and the current drug of choice for treatment is praziquantel (PZQ). Although PZQ is efficient and safe, its repetitive large-scale use in endemic areas may lead to the selection of resistant strains. Isolates less susceptible to PZQ have been found in the field and selected for in the laboratory. The impact of selecting strains with a decreased susceptibility phenotype on disease dynamics and parasite population genetics is not fully understood. This study addresses the impact of PZQ pressure on the genetics of a laboratory population by analyzing frequency variations of polymorphic genetic markers. Infected mice were treated with increasing PZQ doses until the highest dose of 3 × 300 mg/Kg was reached. The effect of PZQ treatment on the parasite population was assessed using five polymorphic microsatellite markers. Parasitological and genetic data were compared with those of the untreated control. After six parasite generations submitted to treatment, it was possible to obtain a S. mansoni population with decreased susceptibility to PZQ. In our experiments we also observed that female worms were more susceptible to PZQ than male worms. The selective pressure exerted by PZQ led to decreased genetic variability in S. mansoni and increased endogamy. The understanding of how S. mansoni populations respond to successive drug pressure has important implications on the appearance and maintenance of a PZQ resistance phenotype in endemic regions.

Does microfinance foster the development of its clients? A bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review
This paper conducts a scientometric analysis and systematic literature review to identify the trends in microfinance outcomes from the perspective of their recipients, specifically more vulnerable people, while also focusing on the demand side. Applying the keywords “co-occurrence networks” and “citation networks,” we examined 524 studies indexed on the ISI Web of Science database between 2012 and March 2021. The subsequent content analysis of bibliometric-coupled articles concerns the main research topics in this field: the socioeconomic outcomes of microfinance, the dichotomy between social performance and the mission drift of microfinance institutions, and how entrepreneurship and financial innovation, specifically through crowdfunding, mitigate poverty and empower the more vulnerable. The findings reinforce the idea that microfinance constitutes a distinct field of development thinking, and indicate that a more holistic approach should be adopted to boost microfinance outcomes through a better understanding of their beneficiaries. The trends in this field will help policymakers, regulators, and academics to examine the nuts and bolts of microfinance and identify the most relevant areas of intervention.

The Digital Twin Paradigm Applied to Soil Quality Assessment: A Systematic Literature Review
This article presents the results regarding a systematic literature review procedure on digital twins applied to precision agriculture. In particular, research and development activities aimed at the use of digital twins, in the context of predictive control, with the purpose of improving soil quality. This study was carried out through an exhaustive search of scientific literature on five different databases. A total of 158 articles were extracted as a result of this search. After a first screening process, only 11 articles were considered to be aligned with the current topic. Subsequently, these articles were categorised to extract all relevant information, using the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses methods. Based on the obtained results, there are two main conclusions to draw: First, when compared with industrial processes, there is only a very slight rising trend regarding the use of digital twins in agriculture. Second, within the time frame in which this work was carried out, it was not possible to find any published paper on the use of digital twins for soil quality improvement within a model predictive control context.

Forecasting air pollution with deep learning with a focus on impact of urban traffic on PM10 and noise pollution
Air pollution constitutes a significant worldwide environmental challenge, presenting threats to both our well-being and the purity of our food supply. This study suggests employing Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) models featuring Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) units for forecasting PM10 particle levels in multiple locations in Skopje simultaneously over a time span of 1, 6, 12, and 24 hours. Historical air quality measurement data were gathered from various local sensors positioned at different sites in Skopje, along with data on meteorological conditions from publicly available APIs. Various implementations and hyperparameters of several deep learning models were compared. Additionally, an analysis was conducted to assess the influence of urban traffic on air and noise pollution, leveraging the COVID-19 lockdown periods when traffic was virtually non-existent. The outcomes suggest that the proposed models can effectively predict air pollution. From the urban traffic perspective, the findings indicate that car traffic is not the major contributing factor to air pollution.
