Nasal vaccination elicits a humoral immune response that provides protection from airborne pathogens 1 , yet the origins and specific immune niches of antigen-specific IgA-secreting cells in the upper airways are unclear 2 . Here we define nasal glandular acinar structures and the turbinates as immunological niches that recruit IgA-secreting plasma cells from the nasal-associated lymphoid tissues (NALTs) 3 . Using intact organ imaging, we demonstrate that nasal vaccination induces B cell expansion in the subepithelial dome of the NALT, followed by invasion into commensal-bacteria-driven chronic germinal centres in a T cell-dependent manner. Initiation of the germinal centre response in the NALT requires pre-expansion of antigen-specific T cells, which interact with cognate B cells in interfollicular regions. NALT ablation and blockade of PSGL-1, which mediates interactions with endothelial cell selectins, demonstrated that NALT-derived IgA-expressing B cells home to the turbinate region through the circulation, where they are positioned primarily around glandular acinar structures. CCL28 expression was increased in the turbinates in response to vaccination and promoted homing of IgA + B cells to this site. Thus, in response to nasal vaccination, the glandular acini and turbinates provide immunological niches that host NALT-derived IgA-secreting cells. These cellular events could be manipulated in vaccine design or in the treatment of upper airway allergic responses. Nasal vaccination induces B cell expansion in the nasal-associated lymphoid tissues, followed by homing to the nasal turbinates and glandular acinar structures.

The nutritional condition of anchovy and Argentine hake larvae in the Northern Patagonian Frontal System (NPFS) area was studied in the austral spring of 2018. We hypothesized that this area provides adequate features for larval growth and survival. The RNA/DNA index (RD) and its derived index of growth performance were employed. A critical RD value for starvation was calculated. The percentage of individuals under starvation and in optimal growth conditions was calculated. Because the period of study was the beginning of the hake spawning period, a limited number of larvae of this species were collected. The RD index showed a significant increase throughout larval ontogeny for anchovy larvae, being 1.84±1.39 (N=739) and 2.77±1.50 (N=220) in the pre-flexion and flexion stages respectively. These values were significantly higher at stations close to the NPFS and at the upper level of the water column. No differences were observed throughout the day. The area inside the NPFS showed a lower proportion of starved anchovy and a higher proportion of individuals in optimal growth, standing as a favourable nursing area. For hake larvae, the average RD was 1.64±0.55 (N=15). The great sensitivity of the RD index makes it a powerful tool for assessing the probability of larval survival and posterior recruitment into fisheries and allowing the identification of favourable rearing areas for these important species for fisheries.

O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar e discutir parâmetros que otimizem o matriciamento em saúde mental como dispositivo de cuidado. Trata-se de estudo qualitativo, orientado pelas teorias psicanalíticas de grupo. Observamos, registramos e analisamos seis reuniões de matriciamento entre serviços especializados e Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS). As principais dificuldades encontradas se referiam a assegurar horários e espaços para as reuniões, bem como disparidades na compreensão sobre a tarefa. Em contrapartida, identificamos também momentos que evidenciam um cuidado mútuo, em sintonia com a literatura sobre as relações entre equipes e usuários. Concluímos destacando a importância do conhecimento sobre os processos psíquicos em jogo no grupo de profissionais, favorecendo, assim, maior clareza sobre sua tarefa e consequente engajamento dos participantes, potencializando o matriciamento como dispositivo de cuidado, tanto dos usuários do Sistema �nico de Saúde (SUS) quanto dos profissionais. The article presents and discusses parameters that optimize matrixing in mental health as a care device. We conducted a qualitative study guided by group psychoanalytic theories. We observed, recorded and analyzed six matrixing meetings between specialist services and primary health care services. The main difficulties found were finding time and spaces for meetings and differences in understanding about tasks. On the other hand, we observed moments that reveal mutual care in tune with the literature on health team and service user relations. We conclude by highlighting the importance of knowledge about the psychic processes at stake in groups of professionals, facilitating greater clarity regarding tasks and resulting in the consequent engagement of participants (both public health service users and health professionals), thus enhancing matrixing as a care device.
