It handles scheduled engine and truck overhauls, wreck repairs, and capital-upgrade programs that turn out rebuilt and updated units at half the cost of buying new locomotives. It is largest locomotive repair facility in America, and many observers say it is also the most complete and most modern such shop on any Class I carrier.
