ObjectivesThis study aimed to determine doctors’ level of adherence to the natriuretic peptide testing guideline and to identify the factors influencing their adherence.DesignCross-sectional study.SettingWeb-based survey.ParticipantsFull-time doctors involved in heart failure (HF) treatment in Vietnam.Primary and secondary outcome measuresDoctors using natriuretic peptide testing for diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment assessment and prognosis of patients with HF were classified as adhering to the guidelines. We assessed the practice of natriuretic peptide testing and stratified the doctors based on their professional qualifications. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to estimate the Odds Ratio (ORs) and 95% CIs for associations between guideline adherence and selected covariates.ResultsOver half of the participants adhered to the natriuretic peptide testing guidelines (57.4%). Cardiologists adhered more closely to the guidelines than other professionals; they had approximately four times higher odds of adherence than other doctors (univariate model, OR: 3.88, 95% CI: 2.56 to 5.89, p<0.001; multivariate model, OR: 4.24, 95% CI: 2.64 to 6.82, p<0.001). Cardiologists also had significantly higher rates of using natriuretic peptide testing for diagnosis (93.8% vs 84.1%, p<0.002), differential diagnosis (71.4% vs 53.5%, p<0.001), treatment assessment (87% vs 64.2%, p<0.001) and prognosis (68.2% vs 50.4%, p<0.001) than other professionals. More years of professional experience correlated with higher guideline adherence (<2 years was used as a reference point; >5 to <10 years, OR: 2.59, 95% CI: 1.45 to 4.60, p<0.001; ≥10 years, OR: 2.30, 95% CI: 1.30 to 4.09, p<0.004).ConclusionThe level of adherence to natriuretic peptide testing guidelines among doctors treating patients with HF varies across Vietnam. Targeted interventions are needed to enhance understanding and proficiency, especially among non-cardiologists and those with limited experience. A dedicated fact sheet focusing on natriuretic peptide testing in HF management, separate from the existing guidelines, could bridge this gap.

Brugada Syndrome - complications
2023
Background Brugada syndrome (BrS) is a rare genetic disease that causes sudden cardiac death (SCD) and arrhythmia. SCN5A pathogenic variants (about 30% of diagnosed patients) are responsible for BrS. Aims Lack of knowledge regarding molecular characteristics and the correlation between genotype and phenotype interfere with the risk stratification and finding the optimal treatment in Vietnam. Therefore, we identified SCN5A variants and evaluated the genotype–phenotype correlation of BrS on 117 Vietnamese probands. Materials and Methods The clinical characteristics and blood samples of BrS patients were collected. To determine SCN5A variants, Sanger sequencing was conducted, and subsequently, these variants were analyzed by bioinformatic tools. Results In this cohort, the overall rate of detected variants in SCN5A was 25.6%, which could include both pathogenic and benign variants. In genetic testing, 21 SCN5A variants were identified, including eight novels and 15 published variants. Multiple bioinformatic tools were used to predict variant effect with c.551A>G, c.1890+14G>A, c.3338C>T, c.3578G>A, and c.5484C>T as benign, while other variants were predicted as disease‐causing. The family history of SCD (risk ratio [RR] = 4.324, 95% CI: 2.290–8.269, p < 0.001), syncope (RR = 3.147, 95% CI: 1.668–5.982, p = 0.0004), and ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation (RR = 3.406, 95% CI: 1.722–5.400, p = 0.0035) presented a significantly higher risk in the SCN5A (+) group, consisting of individuals carrying any variant in the SCN5A gene, compared to SCN5A (−) individuals. Conclusion The results contribute to clarifying the impact of SCN5A variants on these phenotypes. Further follow‐up studies need to be carried out to understand the functional effects of these SCN5A variants on the severity of BrS. This study aims to identify SCN5A variants and evaluate the genotype‐phenotype correlation of Brugada syndrome on 117 Vietnamese probands. Multiple bioinformatic tools were carried out to classify SCN5A variants as benign and disease‐causing. In addition, the genotype‐phenotype correlation was also revealed.

PurposeDigital transformation (DT) and supply chain resilience have received increasing attention. Structural social capital (SSC) and human capital (HC) have recently been identified as strategic resources for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). While the significant role of entrepreneurial competencies (ECs), SME innovativeness (SMI) and technology adoption (TA) in driving business performance have been partially researched, no studies have simultaneously examined the effect of these resources and capabilities on SME business performance growth (BPG) under the lenses of a resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capabilities (DCs) as well as in the context of DT. This study aims to clarify these unclear relationships.Design/methodology/approachThis study adopts established theoretical lenses, a mixed-methods approach and structural equation modeling (SEM) using a sample of 371 respondents who are top and middle SME managers in Vietnam.FindingsThe study discovers the significant and insignificant relationships between HC, SSC, ECs, SMI, TA and BPG besides providing a new measurement and reconciling existing measurements for the DT context. Some implications for driving SMEs' DT are also suggested.Originality/valueThis study is the first to thoroughly examine the effect of HC and SSC on SMEs' BPG through the mediating role of ECs, SMI and TA under RBV and DCs lenses in the DT context. The investigation is conducted in an emerging market, where DT implementation is in the process of being learned and experimented upon.

Background
Influenza A viruses of swine (IAV-S) cause acute and subclinical respiratory disease. To increase our understanding of the etiology of the subclinical form and thus help prevent the persistence of IAV-S in pig populations, we conducted active virologic surveillance in Vietnam, the second-largest pig-producing country in Asia, from February 2010 to December 2013.
Results
From a total of 7034 nasal swabs collected from clinically healthy pigs at 250 farms and 10 slaughterhouses, we isolated 172 IAV-S from swine at the weaning and early-fattening stages. The isolation rate of IAV-S was significantly higher among pigs aged 3 weeks to 4.5 months than in older and younger animals. IAV-S were isolated from 16 large, corporate farms and 6 family-operated farms from among the 250 farms evaluated. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that “having more than 1,000 pigs” was the most influential risk factor for IAV-S positivity. Farms affected by reassortant IAV-S had significantly larger pig populations than did those where A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses were isolated, thus suggesting that large, corporate farms serve as sites of reassortment events.
Conclusions
We demonstrate the asymptomatic circulation of IAV-S in the Vietnamese pig population. Raising a large number of pigs on a farm has the strongest impact on the incidence of subclinical IAV-S infection. Given that only some of the corporate farms surveyed were IAV-S positive, further active monitoring is necessary to identify additional risk factors important in subclinical infection of pigs with IAV-S in Vietnam.

2025
The digital economy is becoming indispensable in promoting trade in OCOP (One Commune One Product) agricultural products in Vietnam. The emergence of digital platforms is increasingly diverse. Consumers can search on digital platforms to choose and buy when they need anything. This convenience is available in the central areas and has gradually spread to all provinces and cities with farmers. The study aims to build a model and evaluate the factors affecting the intention to continue selling OCOP agricultural products on the digital platform. The research focuses on the following factors: safety, compatibility, usefulness, ease of use, information technology knowledge, satisfaction, and intention to continue. The study uses quantitative and qualitative research methods. The author has surveyed 251 enterprises selling OCOP agricultural products nationwide. After collecting the answers, the data is analyzed using SPSS software, SmartPLS. From that data, propose solutions to help digital platforms review and improve service quality. Strengthen the intention of sellers to continue using agricultural products on digital platforms. At the same time, come up with strategies to help sellers understand digital platforms. In addition, this also increases sales efficiency when participating in selling agricultural products in the Vietnamese market in general and the international market in particular.
