The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
Contains the dramatic text of William Shakespeare's tragic play about the forbidden love between two young people from feuding Veronese houses, and includes commentary, notes, and details about the life of the author.
Works of Shakespeare
Of the making of many editions of Shakespeare, to paraphrase Solomon's dictum, \"there is no end.\" The problems involved in making one are great. There are the problems of editing. Shall, for example, the traditional readings which generations of editors have built up be followed, or shall the editor be guided by the newer methods of the \"bibliographical\" school? Shall the text of the plays stand alone or shall it be accompanied by elaborate critical notes? And then there is the problem of manufacture: Shall Shakespeare's works be issued in about 38 volumes, with their inevitable high cost and bulk, or shall they be printed in one volume -- a form which involves the difficulty of securing legibility of type without rendering the volume unwieldy in size?
