The labor penalty for public benefit is utilized within penal law as a modern alternative to short-term imprisonment, proving highly effective in convict rehabilitation and societal reintegration. Our rationale suggests that extending this approach to environmental restoration efforts could significantly amplify its impact, particularly in addressing damages resulting from pollution, waste, and other human-generated pollutants. The findings underscore that the labor penalty for public benefit embodies a win-win approach for all stakeholders involved: the government, individuals, and the environment.
