Supermodel returns to Borders
Tennant was named VH-1 Vogue Model of the Year in 2001 and has continued to make the front covers. Part of her appeal as a model derives from her being a granddaughter of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Her policy of not smiling for the camera has also contributed to her supermodel identity. The 18th century, Georgian house has been listed by Historic Scotland as a Category B building and the grounds contain a priest hole where Catholic clergy would have hidden from religious persecution.
NASA staff stole moon rocks to sell on internet
The safe containing the lunar samples was noticed missing from Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas, on 15 July. Lance Carrington, the assistant inspector general for NASA, said: \"We had a breaking-and-entering take place and the safe was stolen.\" Two months earlier, the FBI had received a tip-off that a moon rock theft was being planned. Agents monitored the suspects' e- mails and learned that Thad Roberts, 25, a student employee, was offering to sell the rocks for $1,000-$5,000 [GBP 700-GBP 3,500] a gram.
Harry Potter and the saucy film director
Although JK Rowling's fourth book - [Harry Potter] and The Goblet of Fire - began to explore the budding sexuality of Harry, Hermione, Ron and all their Hogwarts friends, [Alfonso Cuaron] will still seem to many an odd choice as a Potter director. Comparing Cuaron to [Chris Columbus], who directed Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Mr [Shane Danielsen] said: \"Columbus never struck me as a worldly film- maker. Cuaron's life experience feeds into his film-making. Perhaps Cuaron will bring a greater worldliness to Harry Potter. There is a certain amount of darkness in Harry Potter which Cuaron will do very well.\"
Splitting heirs on Stuart claim
EVER since Bonnie Prince Charlie died leaving no legitimate male heir more than 200 years ago, the subject of who is the rightful descendant to the ancient Stuart dynasty of Scotland has thrown up claim and counter-claim. His is not the only claim on the table. Edinburgh-based writer Michel Lafosse, the self-styled Prince Michael of Albany, has already published his book, The Forgotten Monarchy of Scotland, and in it he claims he should wear the crown of Scotland as the rightful Stuart heir. Mr [Peter Pininski], 45, says he has unearthed documents indicating he is a descendant of Marie-Victoire, who was an illegitimate granddaughter of Bonnie Prince Charlie.
