Taiwanese students learn Chinese from 3 years old using Bopomofo (Zhuyin Fuhao), but they still struggle with spelling and reading, even in middle school. Thus, we guided students still struggling to read Chinese text to use their logical skills and creativity to incorporate the Bopomofo phonetic alphabet into the Rummikub strategy board game. Over six weeks of tutoring, the students shifted from a passive to an active learning attitude, enhancing their enthusiasm for learning. The Zhuyin Fuhao Rummikub board game developed by them received positive feedback in several areas: game experience (4.42/5), self-assessment of learning outcomes (4.31/5), clarity of rules (4.52/5), and learning motivation (3.85/5 and 3.79/5). These results indicate that the board game is highly effective and well-received, underscoring its value in Chinese language learning and teaching. In conclusion, this teaching module can benefit students, educators, and parents. Educators can use this game-based design to inspire the creation of more engaging instructional content.

Structural Optimization Design of an Aircraft Metal-Composite Wing
2013
The problem of metal-composite wing structural optimization is discussed and a strategy is presented. Topology optimization method is applied to provide load transferring path of structure for concept design. Size, shape and other optimization method are used to provide detailed design for individual components. A three-phase optimization method is discussed for fiber reinforced composite laminate skin. Optimal parameters include ply angle, percentage, thickness, layer shape and sequence. The design of laminate for ease of manufacture is based on a set of manufacturing constraints. This paper deals with a total optimal design solution for aileron structure of an aircraft. The result satisfies all the requirements of strength and stability, and has obvious effect of weight loss.

FAST Observations of FRB 20220912A: Burst Properties and Polarization Characteristics
2023
We report the observations of FRB 20220912A using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST). We conducted 17 observations totaling 8.67 hours and detected a total of 1076 bursts with an event rate up to 390 hr\\(^{-1}\\). The cumulative energy distribution can be well described using a broken power-law function with the lower and higher-energy slopes of \\(-0.38\\pm0.02\\) and \\(-2.07\\pm0.07\\), respectively. We also report the L band (\\(1-1.5\\) GHz) spectral index of the synthetic spectrum of FRB~20220912A bursts, which is \\(-2.6\\pm0.21\\). The average rotation measure (RM) value of the bursts from FRB~20220912A is \\(-0.08\\pm5.39\\ \\rm rad\\,m^{-2}\\), close to 0 \\(\\rm rad\\,m^{-2}\\) and maintain relatively stable over two months. Most bursts have nearly 100\\% linear polarization. About 45\\% of the bursts have circular polarization with SNR \\(>\\) 3, and the highest circular polarization degree can reach 70\\%. Our observations suggest that FRB~20220912A is located in a relatively clean local environment with complex circular polarization characteristics. These various behaviors imply that the mechanism of circular polarization of FRBs likely originates from an intrinsic radiation mechanism, such as coherent curvature radiation or inverse Compton scattering inside the magnetosphere of the FRB engine source (e.g. a magnetar).

2017
To meet the requirement of extensive resection of pancreatic cancer with portal or mesenteric venous invasion, the innovation of Vascular Graft Bridged En Bloc Resection (VGBEBR) has been adopted to treat advanced biliopancreatic cancer in the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of the PLA Rocket Force General Hospital since 2013.This attempt could not only broaden surgical indications of radical resection and lymphadenectomy but also increase R0 resection rate, especially for the case with severe invasion in the portal and mesenteric venous system.
