2025
The miR‐34 family is recognized for its crucial role as tumor suppressors, particularly through its interactions with oncogenic regulators such as Tumor Protein 53 (TP53). Bromodomain‐containing Protein 4 (BRD4) functions as a transcriptional regulator that enhances the expression of oncogenes. In triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC), BRD4 is often found to be overexpressed and linked to poor clinical outcomes. This study is aimed at exploring the impact of miR‐34b on the sensitivity of TNBC cells to BRD4 inhibition, which may also affect TP53 expression. miR‐34b‐5p mimics and scrambled oligonucleotides were transfected into TP53‐mutant MDA‐MB‐231 and nonmutant MCF‐7 cell lines. The expression levels of miR‐34b, TP53, and BRD4 genes, along with the migration rates and sensitivity to the BRD4‐specific inhibitor JQ1, were compared between the miR‐34b overexpressing cells. The results showed that miR‐34b overexpression led to increased TP53 expression in MDA‐MB‐231 cells, while a reduction was observed in MCF‐7 cells. Consequently, BRD4 expression was significantly elevated in MDA‐MB‐231 cells, resulting in resistance to JQ1. The increase in BRD4 expression also correlated with higher migration rates compared to MCF‐7 cells. In conclusion, miR‐34b may have an oncogenic role by promoting the expression of BRD4 in TNBC cells. This finding aligns with prior reports indicating a negative correlation between miR‐34b levels and survival rates in patients with TNBC. These insights may provide new perspectives on the role of miR‐34b in the development and progression of TNBC.

Purpose: In quantitative studies, providing a valid and reliable instrument is necessary to ensure accurate results when measuring sustainable manufacturing practices (SMPs) and sustainability performance (SP). Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the validity and reliability of the measurements of SMPs and SP.Methodology/Approach: The population of this study is top managers who have experience in the oil and gas industry (O&GI) in Iraq. Two tests were carried out in the present study: the pre-test and the pilot test.Findings: In the pre-test, the comments made by six academician experts and three practitioners were used to rephrase the measurements items and modify them according to the requirements of the O&GI by the Iraqi context. Moreover, in the pilot test was all the items were reliable and were sufficiently correlated with their constructs.Research Limitation/implication: There are some limitations to the current study. First, due to the small size of the study population, the pilot test sample in the current study was only 12 respondents. Future researchers can increase the sample size for the pilot test when they have a large population. Second, the validity and reliability of the measurements were tested in the current study in the oil and gas industry only. Future studies can test these measurements in other industries or small and Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).Originality/Value of paper: Theoretically, there are four contributions to the body of knowledge: first, introduce measures for SMPs according to the product life cycle view, it is limited in the literature. Second, these measures can be used by researchers to study the extent of SMPs and the SP of companies using descriptive statistics. Third, these measures can be used to investigate the impact of SMPs on SP by regression testing or structural equation modelling. Fourth, measures can be modified into open-ended questions for use in qualitative or mixed studies. Practically, there are two practical implications which explain in the conclusion.

IMAGES OF QURANIC INTERTEXTUALITY IN THE POETRY OF MANSOUR BIN ISMAIL AL-FAQIH
This research examines the forms of Quranic intertextuality in Mansour Al-Faqih's poetry, a prominent theme in his poetry. For our poet, intertextuality is represented by Quranic intertextuality, reflecting the poet's high religious culture, his in-depth reading of Quranic texts, and his understanding of their connotations and meanings, enabling him to evoke them in his poetic texts. Adopting a descriptive and analytical approach, this research begins with an introduction to the origins, development, and emergence of intertextuality. It then introduces intertextuality linguistically and technically, and provides an overview of the poet's literary biography and the most prominent characteristics of his poetic experience. It then examines the types of intertextuality in Mansour Al-Faqih's poetry, including intertextuality through Quranic quotation, intertextuality through Quranic citation, and intertextuality through imitation of the Quranic style. The conclusion includes the most prominent findings of our research, demonstrating the poet Mansour Al-Faqih's skillful use of Quranic vocabulary to serve his poetic meaning and significance. This, if anything, demonstrates the poet's awareness of Quranic texts, their understanding, their meanings, and their significance, as well as his ability to employ them to serve his poetic texts. The conclusion also includes a list of the sources and references I relied on to write this research.

Mental Disorders Among Elderly People in Baghdad, Iraq, 2017
2019
This study aimed to estimate the prevalence and determinants of mental disorders (MDs) among elderly people residing in nursing homes (NHs) and those living with their families (WF) in Baghdad, Iraq, 2017. A cross-sectional study was conducted on all elderly individuals residing in all NHs in Baghdad and an equal number of elderly people residing WF. MDs were defined based on Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10). We used relevant World Health Organization–accredited tools to identify the types of MDs. The prevalence of MDs among elderly people was 38.7%, being statistically significantly (P <.01) higher among those in NH (55.8%) compared with those living WF (21.5%). The proportion of types of MDs among NH versus WF residents was as follows: depression (35.4% vs 16.6%), anxiety (32.6% vs 9.9%), dementia (19.3% vs 5%), and suicide thoughts (25.4% vs 4.4%). The multivariate analysis showed many factors that were associated with MD. Low income, dependency on others, and being neglected were stronger determinant of MD among elderly people living WF. However, chronic joint pain, visual impairment, auditory impairment, and economic status deterioration were stronger determinant among those in NHs. The prevalence of MDs in the NH is more than double the prevalence in the community. We recommended enhancing elderly mental health care services including curative, preventive, and promotive activities.

The companies’ interest in the level of their sustainable manufacturing practices (SMPs) has become necessary. This is because of its role in improving and balancing dimensions of sustainability performance (SP) which includes environmental sustainability (EnS), social sustainability (SoS) and economic sustainability (EcS). Therefore, the objective of the present study is the investigate about the extent of SMPs and SP to encourage the oil and gas industry (O&GI) in the context of Iraq to obtain a balance in the dimensions of SP, i.e. EcS, EnS and SoS. The data collected from 80 companies were analysed using descriptive statistics method by using SPSS version 25. The results revealed that the extent of the four SMPs and the three dimensions of SP in companies were implemented at a slight level. These results imply that although SMPs have become a required necessity expected from all industries, and companies should prefer to implement them, there is still needed to more efforts in implementation of SMPs among the O&GI to achieve a balance in the dimensions of SP.

Background: Patients’ behaviour in making decisions regarding health is currently changing from passive recipients to recipients who play an active role in taking action to control their health and taking self-care initiatives. Objectives: This study was conducted to evaluate the health seeking behaviour among general public and its associated factors; and to evaluate the medicine taking behaviour in public and the practice of self-medication. Methods: A cross-sectional study was undertaken among general public in Penang Island, Malaysia. A convenience sampling of 888 participants successfully completed the survey. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed among the residents in the north east of Penang Island. Results: This study showed that most of the participants chose to consult the physician when they experience any health problems (66.7%), followed by self-medication (20.9%). The first action for consulting the physician was significantly predicted by Malay respondents and retired people (OR 3.05, 95% CI 1.04-8.89). The prevalence of self-medication was 54%. The practice of self-medication was significantly associated with Chinese participants, educated people, people with alone living status and people with more self-care orientation. Conclusion: Increasing the awareness of the public about the rational choice of getting medical assistance is a very important issue to control their health. A health education program is needed to increase the awareness about the use of medicines among the general public and to enable them to make the right decisions relating to health problems.

Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is an acute tick-borne disease with a case fatality rate of up to 40% in humans, posing a significant health threat. This study investigates the 2022–23 CCHF outbreaks in Iraq, the highest recorded to date, and analyzes potential factors at the human–animal–environmental interface. Data from the Iraqi government, the World Health Organization, and the World Bank were used to analyze CCHF trends and affecting factors. This included epidemiological reports, clinical data, tick infestation and seroprevalence studies, and climate data. Descriptive and statistical analyses examined case trends, geographic and demographic characteristics, clinical manifestations, risk factors, seasonal patterns, and influencing factors. A sudden rise in CCHF cases began in southern Iraq in April 2022 and expanded across all governorates, with a shift toward urban areas. Higher incidence was observed among males, aged 25–44, and those involved in slaughtering. The most common clinical manifestation was fever (97%), followed by hemorrhagic symptoms (54%). Bleeding from the gums or mouth and subcutaneous bleeding were more frequent in patients with fatal outcomes. Seasonal patterns showed peaks during spring and fall, correlating with tick activity and potentially exacerbated by climate change. Tick infestation and seroprevalence studies indicated a high prevalence of Hyalomma ticks and CCHF seropositivity among domestic animals in southern Iraq (60%), consistent with the distribution of CCHF human cases. Iraq’s ongoing CCHF outbreak demands multidisciplinary One Health strategies. The Iraqi government has adopted such a control strategy, contributing to regional and global efforts to enhance pandemic preparedness.

Buildings account for sixty percent of the world’s total annual energy consumption; therefore, it is essential to find ways to reduce the amount of energy used in this sector. The road administration organization in Jakarta, Indonesia, utilized a questionnaire as well as the insights of industry experts to determine the most effective energy optimization parameters. It was decided to select variables such as the wall and ceiling materials, the number and type of windows, and the wall and ceiling insulation thickness. Several different modes were evaluated using the DesignBuilder software. Training the data with a supported vector machine (SVM) revealed the relationship between the inputs and the two critical outputs, namely the amount of energy consumption and CO2 production, and the ant colony algorithm was used for optimization. According to the findings, the ratio of the north and east windows to the wall in one direction is 70 percent, while the ratio of the south window to the wall in the same direction ranges from 35 to 50 percent. When the ratio and percentage of the west window to the west wall is between 60 and 70 percent, the amount of produced energy and CO2 is reduced to negligible levels.
