A lightweight and secure protocol for teleworking environment
The Internet has advanced so quickly that we can now access any service at any time, from any location. As a result of this capability, People around the world can benefit from the popularity and convenience of teleworking systems. Teleworking systems, however, are vulnerable to a range of attacks; as an unauthorized user enters the open communication line and compromises the whole system, that, in turn, creates a big hurdle for the teleworkers. Professional groups have presented numerous mechanisms for the security of teleworking systems to stop any harm, but there are still a lot of security issues like insider, stolen verifier, masquerade, replay, traceability and impersonation threats. In this paper, we propose that one of the security issues with teleworking systems is the lack of a secure authentication mechanism. In order to provide a secure teleworking environment, we have proposed a lightweight and secure protocol to authenticate all the participants and make the requisite services available in an efficient manner. The security analysis of the presented protocol has been investigated formally using the random oracle model (ROM) and ProVerif simulation and informally through illustration/attack discussions. Meanwhile, the performance metrics have been measured by considering computation and communication overheads. Upon comparing the proposed protocol with prior works, it has been demonstrated that our protocol is superior to its competitors. It is suitable for implementation because it achieved a 73% improvement in computation and 34% in communication costs.
Convection heat mass transfer and MHD flow over a vertical plate with chemical reaction, arbitrary shear stress and exponential heating
The present research article is directed to study the heat and mass transference analysis of an incompressible Newtonian viscous fluid. The unsteady MHD natural convection flow over an infinite vertical plate with time dependent arbitrary shear stresses has been investigated. In heat and mass transfer analysis the chemical molecular diffusivity effects have been studied. Moreover, the infinite vertical plate is subjected to the phenomenon of exponential heating. For this study, we formulated the problem into three governing equations along with their corresponding initial and boundary conditions. The Laplace transform method has been used to gain the exact analytical solutions to the problem. Special cases of the obtained solutions are investigated. It is noticed that some well-known results from the published literature are achieved from these special cases. Finally, different physical parameters’ responses are investigated graphically through Mathcad software.
Remediation of Cd (II) Ion from an Aqueous Solution by a Starch-Based Activated Carbon: Experimental and Density Functional Theory (DFT) Approach
Heavy metal ion pollution is a serious threat for aquatic and terrestrial living beings. Adsorption is a facile process to encounter heavy metal pollution. Various types of adsorbents have been developed and used for environmental remediation. Activated carbon is one of the cheapest adsorbents derived from various biomass. In this work, the adsorption of cadmium ions (Cd (II)) with starch-based activated carbon (AC) having a specific surface area of 1600 m2 g−1 was investigated in a series of batch laboratory studies. The effective operating parameters, such as initial pH (pH0), initial concentration of metal ions, contact time, and temperature on the adsorption, were investigated. Validation of the kinetic study shows that the adsorption process is better predicted by the pseudo-second-order model. The extended Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms were applied to the study. The results show that the metal ion adsorption capacities of activated carbon increased with increasing pH, and it was found that maximum adsorption (284 mg g−1) of Cd (II) was achieved at pH solution of 5.5–6. The thermodynamic parameters, such as ∆G, ∆H, and ∆S, were found to be −17.42 kJ mol−1, 8.49 kJ mol−1, and 58.66 J mol−1 K−1, respectively, revealing that the adsorption mechanism is endothermic, spontaneous, and feasible. Furthermore, the density functional theory simulations demonstrated that the activated carbon strongly interacted with toxicity and mobility, so it is very urgent to remove this species from industrial wastewater before it is discharged into the environment. The adsorption energy calculated for all interactive sites was negative (−43.41 kJ mol−1 to −967.74 kJ mol−1), showing effective interaction between the adsorbate and adsorbent. The PDOS clearly shows that there is a stronger overlapping at the Femi level between the d orbital of the Cd ion and the p orbital of the O atom, showing a strong interaction and confirming the chemical bond formation between the Cd (II) ion and O atom.
Dielectric and Electromechanical Properties of Zr-Doped BNT-ST Lead-Free Piezoelectric Ceramics
Piezoelectric ceramics 0.72(Bi0.5Na0.5)Ti(1−x)ZrxO3-0.28SrTiO3 (BNTZ-ST) with x = 0.00, 0.01, 0.02 and 0.03 were produced using a solid solution reaction procedure. Results from the X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed the presence of a perovskite structure with cubic symmetry for all samples. Surface analysis was completed using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and the grain size was found to decrease slightly with increasing Zr doping. The grain morphology was primarily rectangular, but morphed into a rounder shape with increases in Zr. In a dielectric constant study, the depolarization temperature was found to decrease with increasing Zr+4 content and increasing frequency. The strain was found to be 0.34% for the undoped samples with an equivalent dynamic strain (Smax/Emax) of 618 pm/V, without negative strain. However, the strain decreased slightly and hysteresis loops become slim and more symmetric, attaining a relaxor ferroelectric behavior with increasing Zr content.
Heat transfer analysis of generalized second-grade fluid with exponential heating and thermal heat flux
The aim of present work is to apply the Caputo–Fabrizio fractional derivative in the constitutive equations of heat transfer. Natural convection flow of an unsteady second grade fluid over a vertical plate with exponential heating is discussed. The generalized Fourier law is substituted in temperature profile. A portion of the dimensionless factors are utilized to make the governing equations into dimensionless structures. The solutions for temperature and velocity profiles of Caputo–Fabrizio model are acquired through the Laplace transform method. These solutions are greatly affected through the variation of different dimensionless variables like Prandtl number, Grashof number, and second-grade fluid parameter. Finally, the influence of embedded parameters is shown by plotting graphs through Mathcad. From the graphical results it is concluded that, the temperature of the fluid decreases with the increasing values of the Prandtl number and Second grade fluid parameter and increases with the passage of time. The velocity of the fluid increases with increasing values of the Grashof number, second grade parameter and time while decreases with increasing values of fractional parameter and Prandtl number.
A lightweight and robust authentication scheme for the healthcare system using public cloud server
Cloud computing is vital in various applications, such as healthcare, transportation, governance, and mobile computing. When using a public cloud server, it is mandatory to be secured from all known threats because a minor attacker’s disturbance severely threatens the whole system. A public cloud server is posed with numerous threats; an adversary can easily enter the server to access sensitive information, especially for the healthcare industry, which offers services to patients, researchers, labs, and hospitals in a flexible way with minimal operational costs. It is challenging to make it a reliable system and ensure the privacy and security of a cloud-enabled healthcare system. In this regard, numerous security mechanisms have been proposed in past decades. These protocols either suffer from replay attacks, are completed in three to four round trips or have maximum computation, which means the security doesn’t balance with performance. Thus, this work uses a fuzzy extractor method to propose a robust security method for a cloud-enabled healthcare system based on Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). The proposed scheme’s security analysis has been examined formally with BAN logic, ROM and ProVerif and informally using pragmatic illustration and different attacks’ discussions. The proposed security mechanism is analyzed in terms of communication and computation costs. Upon comparing the proposed protocol with prior work, it has been demonstrated that our scheme is 33.91% better in communication costs and 35.39% superior to its competitors in computation costs.
Synergetic Effect of Calcium Doping on Catalytic Activity of Manganese Ferrite: DFT Study and Oxidation of Hydrocarbon
Manganese ferrite (MnFe2O4) and calcium-doped manganese ferrite (Ca-MnFe2O4) were synthesized, characterized, and tested for oxidation of hydrocarbons (CH) in a self-designed gas blow rotating (GBR) reactor. The uniformly sized and thermally stable MnFe2O4 nanoparticles (molar ratio, 1/284.5) showed a reasonable catalytic activity (productivity: 366.17 mmolg−1h−1) with 60% selectivity at 80 °C, which was further enhanced by calcium doping (productivity: 379.38 mmolg−1h−1). The suspicious behavior of Ca-MnFe2O4 was disclosed experimentally and theoretically as well.
Removal of azo dye from aqueous solution by a low-cost activated carbon prepared from coal: adsorption kinetics, isotherms study, and DFT simulation
The high-risk organic pollutants produced by industries are of growing concern. The highly porous coal-based activated carbon (AC) having a specific surface area of 3452.8 m 2 /g is used for the adsorption of azo dye from synthetic solution. The sorbent is characterized through BET, SEM, TEM, XRD, FT-IR, TGA, and zeta potential. The sorbent exhibits − 18.7 mV surface charge, which is high enough for making suspension. The maximum dye uptake of 333 mg/g is observed in sorbent under acidic medium. The thermodynamics parameters like ∆G , ∆H , and ΔS were found to be − 12.40 kJ mol −1 , 39.66 kJ mol −1 , and 174.55 J mol −1  K −1 at 293 K, respectively, revealing that the adsorption mechanism is spontaneous, endothermic, and feasible. The experimental data follows the Langmuir and D–R models. The adsorption follows pseudo 2nd-order kinetics. DFT investigation shows that the dye sorption onto AC in configuration No. 4 (CFG-4) is more effective, as this configuration has high ∆H (enthalpy change) and adsorption energy (E ads ). This is confirmed by Mullikan atomic charge transfer phenomenon.
Heat transfer of generalized second grade fluid with MHD, radiation and exponential heating using Caputo–Fabrizio fractional derivatives approach
The aim of the present work is to apply the Caputo–Fabrizio fractional derivative to the heat transformation of unsteady incompressible second grade fluid. The effects of magneto hydro dynamic and radiation are analyzed. In governing equation of heat transfer nonlinear radiative heat is examined. Exponential heating phenomena is considered at boundary. Firstly, the dimensional governing equations with the initial & boundary conditions are converted into non-dimensional form. Exact analytical solutions are obtained for dimensionless fractional governing equations which consist of momentum and energy equations by using Laplace transform method. Special cases are investigated of the obtained solutions and it is noticed that some well-known results are achieved published in literature from these special cases. At the end, for graphical illustration the influences of different physical parameters like radiation, Prandtl, fractional parameter, Grashof numbers and Magneto hydro dynamic are checked graphically.
