Proton Conductive Lanthanide-Based Metal–Organic Frameworks: Synthesis Strategies, Structural Features, and Recent Progress

In the fields of proton exchange membrane fuel cells as well as impedance recognition, molecular sieve, and biochemistry, the development of proton conductive materials is essential. The design and preparation of the next generation of proton conductive materials—crystalline metal–organic framework (MOF) materials with high proton conductivity and excellent water stability—are facing great challenges. Due to the large radius and high positive charge of lanthanides, they often interact with organic ligands to exhibit high coordination numbers and flexible coordination configurations, resulting in the higher stability of lanthanide-based MOFs (Ln-MOFs) than their transition metal analogues, especially regarding water stability. Therefore, Ln-MOFs have attracted considerable attention. This review offers a view of the latest progress of proton conductive Ln-MOFs, including synthesis strategy, structural characteristics, and advantages, proton conductivity, proton conductive mechanism, and applications. New identities about operator Hermite polynomials and their related integration formulas

By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators and the bipartite entangled state representation, we derive some new identities about operator Hermite polynomials in both the single-and two-variable cases. We also find a binomial-like theorem between the single-variable Hermite polynomials and the two-variable Hermite polynomials. Application of these identities in deriving new integration formulas, but without really doing the integration in the usual sense, is demonstrated.

By means of the specific immuno-recognition and ultra-sensitive mass detection, a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) biosensor for Escherichia coli O157:H7 detection was developed in this work. As a suitable surfactant, 16-mercaptohexadecanoic acid (MHDA) was introduced onto the Au surface of QCM, and then self-assembled with N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) raster as a reactive intermediate to provide an active interface for the specific antibody immobilization. The binding of target bacteria with the immobilized antibodies decreased the sensor's resonant frequency, and the frequency shift was correlated to the bacterial concentration. The stepwise assembly of the immunosensor was characterized by means of the electrochemical techniques. Using the immersion-dry-immersion procedure, this QCM biosensor could detect 2.0×10^2 colony forming units (CFU)/ml E. coli O157:H7. In order to reduce the fabrication time, a polyelectrolyte layer-by-layer self-assembly (LBL-SA) method was adopted for fast construction. Finally, the reproducibility of this biosensor was discussed.

By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we present a new approach to obtain operators’ normal ordering. We first put operators into their Weyl ordering through the Weyl-Wigner quantization scheme, and then we convert the Weyl ordered operators into normal ordering by virtue of the normally ordered form of the Wigner operator.

Resveratrol alleviates IBD-associated neuropsychiatric comorbidities via microbiota-dependent arginine metabolism reprogramming and microglial M2 polarization through gut-brain axis

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is intricately linked to neuropsychiatric comorbidities through gut-brain axis dysregulation. This study demonstrates that resveratrol (RSV), a natural polyphenol, alleviates DSS-induced colitis-associated anxiety and depression by reprogramming the microbiota─metabolite-barrier network. RSV (100 mg/kg/day) ameliorated DSS-associated anxiety-like behaviors in open field tests (peripheral zone time ↓12.6%,

Early-life gut microbial colonization shapes Th1/Th2 balance in asthma model in BALB/c mice

Background
We aimed to investigate the effect of early-life diverse microbial exposures on gut microbial colonization in an OVA-induced asthma model in BALB/c mice.
Methods
BALB/c mice were divided into 4 groups: A, offsprings were kept in a SPF environment during fetal, lactation, and childhood periods; B, offsprings were kept in the SPF environment during fetal and lactation periods, and kept in the general environment during childhood; C, offsprings were kept in the SPF environment only during fetal period, and then kept in the general environment; and D, offsprings were kept in the general environment during whole periods. The diversity of intestinal flora was analyzed using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis. Mice were sensitized with OVA to establish an animal model of asthma. Then asthma-related inflammatory cytokines and histological analysis were performed.
Results
The diversity of intestinal microflora in group D was significantly higher than groups A, B and C at three days and three weeks after birth, and the diversity of intestinal microflora in groups C and D were significantly higher than groups A and B at five weeks after birth. The pathologic scores of OVA-induced asthmatic mice in group D were significantly lower than group A, and serum IFN-γ levels and the IFN-γ/IL-4 ratio in group D were significantly higher than group A.
Conclusions
Exposure to diverse microbial environments in early life affects gut microbial colonization in BALB/c mice. The diversity of the intestinal flora in early life may prevent airway inflammation in asthma via regulating the Th1/Th2 balance.

A high-order focus interaction model and oral ulcer dataset for oral ulcer segmentation

Computer-aided diagnosis has been slow to develop in the field of oral ulcers. One of the major reasons for this is the lack of publicly available datasets. However, oral ulcers have cancerous lesions and their mortality rate is high. The ability to recognize oral ulcers at an early stage in a timely and effective manner is a very critical issue. In recent years, although there exists a small group of researchers working on these, the datasets are private. Therefore to address this challenge, in this paper a multi-tasking oral ulcer dataset (Autooral) containing two major tasks of lesion segmentation and classification is proposed and made publicly available. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first team to make publicly available an oral ulcer dataset with multi-tasking. In addition, we propose a novel modeling framework, HF-UNet, for segmenting oral ulcer lesion regions. Specifically, the proposed high-order focus interaction module (HFblock) performs acquisition of global properties and focus for acquisition of local properties through high-order attention. The proposed lesion localization module (LL-M) employs a novel hybrid sobel filter, which improves the recognition of ulcer edges. Experimental results on the proposed Autooral dataset show that our proposed HF-UNet segmentation of oral ulcers achieves a DSC value of about 0.80 and the inference memory occupies only 2029 MB. A Video Target Tracking and Correction Model with Blockchain and Robust Feature Location

In this paper, a cutting-edge video target tracking system is proposed, combining feature location and blockchain technology. The location method makes full use of feature registration and received trajectory correction signals to achieve high accuracy in tracking targets. The system leverages the power of blockchain technology to address the challenge of insufficient accuracy in tracking occluded targets, by organizing the video target tracking tasks in a secure and decentralized manner. To further enhance the accuracy of small target tracking, the system uses adaptive clustering to guide the target location process across different nodes. In addition, the paper also presents an unmentioned trajectory optimization post-processing approach, which is based on result stabilization, effectively reducing inter-frame jitter. This post-processing step plays a crucial role in maintaining a smooth and stable track of the target, even in challenging scenarios such as fast movements or significant occlusions. Experimental results on CarChase2 (TLP) and basketball stand advertisements (BSA) datasets show that the proposed feature location method is better than the existing methods, achieving a recall of 51% (27.96+) and a precision of 66.5% (40.04+) in the CarChase2 dataset and recall of 85.52 (11.75+)% and precision of 47.48 (39.2+)% in the BSA dataset. Moreover, the proposed video target tracking and correction model performs better than the existing tracking model, showing a recall of 97.1% and a precision of 92.6% in the CarChase2 dataset and an average recall of 75.9% and mAP of 82.87% in the BSA dataset, respectively. The proposed system presents a comprehensive solution for video target tracking, offering high accuracy, robustness, and stability. The combination of robust feature location, blockchain technology, and trajectory optimization post-processing makes it a promising approach for a wide range of video analytics applications, such as surveillance, autonomous driving, and sports analysis.

Tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy has greatly improved lung cancer survival in patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations. However, the development of TKI-acquired resistance is the major problem to be overcome. In this study, we found that miR-196a expression was greatly induced in gefitinib-resistant lung cancer cells. To understand the role and mechanism of miR-196a in TKI resistance, we found that miR-196a-forced expression alone increased cell resistance to gefitinib treatment in vitro and in vivo by inducing cell proliferation and inhibiting cell apoptosis. We identified the transcription factor nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2) bound to the promoter region of miR-196a and induced miR-196a expression at the transcriptional level. NRF2-forced expression also significantly increased expression levels of miR-196a, and was an upstream inducer of miR-196a to mediate gefitinib resistance. We also found that glycolipid transfer protein (GLTP) was a functional direct target of miR-196a, and downregulation of GLTP by miR-196a was responsible for gefitinib resistance. GLTP overexpression alone was sufficient to increase the sensitivity of lung cancer cells to gefitinib treatment. Our studies identified a new role and mechanism of NRF2/miR-196a/GLTP pathway in TKI resistance and lung tumor development, which may be used as a new biomarker (s) for TKI resistance or as a new therapeutic target in the future.

Baseline HbA1c Level Influences the Effect of Periodontal Therapy on Glycemic Control in People with Type 2 Diabetes and Periodontitis: A Systematic Review on Randomized Controlled Trails

Introduction
The question of whether periodontal therapy is an effective strategy for achieving glycemic control in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and periodontitis continues to be open to debate. To clarify this issue, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Methods
A systematic literature search of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was carried out by searching four electronic databases and four journals up to April 2020. RCTs that evaluated the effect of periodontal therapy on glycemic control in people with T2DM were included.
Results
A total of 23 RCTs were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. We found that after 3 and 6 months, periodontal therapy could significantly reduce glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level (3-month: weighted mean difference [WMD] − 0.514, 95% confidence interval [CI] − 0.730, − 0.298,
p
= 0.000; 6-month: WMD − 0.548, 95% CI − 0.859, − 0.238,
p
= 0.000). However, huge heterogeneity existed. Further analyses on 11 potential sources of heterogeneity found that baseline HbA1c of the included studies was the most significant factor causing heterogeneity. The benefit of periodontal therapy on glycemic control was much more obvious in studies with a higher baseline HbA1c level than in those with a lower baseline HbA1c level.
Conclusions
Periodontal therapy significantly contributed to glycemic control in T2DM patients, especially in patients with higher baseline HbA1c level.
