Acute toxicity is a frequent but avoidable cause of morbidity and mortality in children, especially in developing countries such as India. The present study assesses patterns of acute toxicity among children of different age groups. The study sample included all hospitalised paediatric victims of acute accidental poisoning at the King George Medical University, Lucknow, India from 2010-2011. Their histories, baseline characteristics, clinical treatments and outcomes were reviewed. Most children were males less than three years of age with 4% overall mortality. Kerosene oil was implicated in most cases. Childhood poisoning was common among patients 1-3 years of age with a male preponderance. The accidental ingestion of household poisons, especially kerosene oil, was responsible for most cases. Parents must be educated about the dangers of these toxic household substances and warned to store them in suitable containers out of the reach of children.

A wide variety of pollutants are discharged into water bodies like lakes, rivers, canal, etc. due to the growing world population, industrial development, depletion of water resources, improper disposal of agricultural and native wastes. Water pollution is becoming a severe problem for the whole world from small villages to big cities. The toxic metals and organic dyes pollutants are considered as significant contaminants that cause severe hazards to human beings and aquatic life. The microbial fuel cell (MFC) is the most promising, eco-friendly, and emerging technique. In this technique, microorganisms play an important role in bioremediation of water pollutants simultaneously generating an electric current. In this review, a new approach based on microbial fuel cells for bioremediation of organic dyes and toxic metals has been summarized. This technique offers an alternative with great potential in the field of wastewater treatment. Finally, their applications are discussed to explore the research gaps for future research direction. From a literature survey of more than 170 recent papers, it is evident that MFCs have demonstrated outstanding removal capabilities for various pollutants.

2017
The study was conducted to compare practitioners' perception about professional identity at higher secondary level. The purpose of the study was to equate practitioners' perception about three components of professional identity (1) Who am I? (2) What is my role? (3) How I should be? The population of the study comprised male and female practitioners teaching at higher secondary level. Data was collected from 633 public and private sector college practitioners through disproportionate stratified sampling technique. Major findings of study were that there was no significant difference in professional identity of public and private sector practitioners; however, private sector college practitioners were found more concerned about improving themselves. It was concluded that the teachers from both sectors had same views about their description as a teachers and their role as a teacher but teachers of private sector were more concerned about how they should be. It was suggested that practitioners at higher secondary may be provided training for enhancing professional identity through collaboration with universities and international donor agencies which are interested to raise the quality of education in Pakistan. It can be made mandatory to promote the college teachers to next grade within training courses and professional development programs.

Online shopping (e-Shopping) has grown at a rapid pace with the advancement in modern web technologies, there are then socio and technical aspects (factors) in the mentioned e-shopping. The following research paper highlights some mandatory socio-technical factors affecting consumer’s behavior in online shopping environment. In this work a comprehensive conceptual model is put forward based on proposed reform DeLone and McLean Success Model for Information Systems. This model is used for the assessment of the success of eCommerce web portals. Approximately thirteen different hypotheses are proposed on the bases of this methodology which represent the cause and effect relationship among the various variables affecting consumer’s online buying behavior. Further this work is simulated in iThink technology to show prominently that consumer’s satisfaction and trust directly affects productivity of the organization. For development organizations the proposed methodology is valuable because it will facilitate in building the eCommerce websites, web portals whereas retailers can improve the productivity of their organization by accomplishing this.
