The fruits of Cornus mas and Cornus officinalis have been known and appreciated in folk medicine for years and have a high biological value, which is mainly connected with their polyphenols and iridoids content. However, hybrids of C. mas × C. officinalis have not been investigated. The aim of this study was to evaluate the iridoids, anthocyanins, and flavonols content, and antioxidant capacity of Cornus mas, Cornus officinalis, and C. mas × C. officinalis. Iridoids and flavonoids were quantified by the High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method. Antioxidant capacity (AC) was measured using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH•), 2,2′-azino-bis (3-ethyl benzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS•+), and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) tests. Total phenolic content (TPC) was evaluated using the Folin–Ciocalteu reagent. Among the C. mas cultivars and C. officinalis genotypes, there was considerable variation in the content of iridoids, flavonoids, and AC. Interspecific hybrids C. mas × C. officinalis contained more iridoids than C. mas and more anthocyanins than C. officinalis and additionally had higher AC and TPC than C. officinalis and most C. mas. AC, TPC, and the presence of iridoids, anthocyanins, and flavonols in hybrids C. mas × C. officinalis are reported for the first time. The Cornus species deserve special attention due to their highly biologically active substances, as well as useful medicinal properties.

This research aims to form a comprehensive methodological approach to assessing the quality of the integrated development of Ukrainian light industry enterprises as a groundwork for effective managerial decision-making. The methodological research toolkit includes developing an integration map, and modeling and forecasting the results of integrated development. This comprehensive evaluation helps to justify the effectiveness of management decisions and increase the quality of integrated enterprise development, as well as their performance as a whole. Based on the formed map of enterprise integration, groups of enterprises were identified: forwards, strikers, defenders, and outsiders. Using integrated development modeling, the potential quality level of a 1% cost increase in integrated development and the volumes of product sales of the surveyed companies was determined with regard to the group distribution for the period up to 2025. A considerable increase in the efficiency of integrated development is provided for the forward companies. It has been found that a high-quality level of the management of integrated development in light industry enterprises requires a longer period of time compared to other groups of enterprises due to the slow pace of reducing the cost of integrated business development.

The object of this research is the process of choice the strategy for the development of the Ukrainian segment of suborbital launch vehicles (SOLVs). Problems arising in this process are analyzed and a search of ways of overcoming them was carried out. The strategy of development of a family of SOLVs is based on the previous experience of developing SOLVs in other countries. A family of SOLVs is proposed which includes five rockets with the apogee from 2 to 150 kilometers. The problem of the exclusion zones which can be reserved for falling of discarded parts of vehicles during the launch was considered. Experience of other countries in overcoming this problem was analyzed. It was decided to begin the process of formulation of a concept of a simplified SOLVs control system that would ensure keeping the rocket over the area of the launch. Within this task, a choice of components of the onboard electronic equipment (OBEE) was made. For testing the OBEE in the conditions of a real flight, a K80 Meteo 7000 rocket, a member of the proposed SOLV family, was chosen. In flight tests, most of the chosen OBEE components confirmed their operability, though some showed shortcomings in their operation. Main flight parameters of the K80 Meteo 7000 rocket were demonstrated. The reach of the apogee of 6,375 m and the velocity of Mach 1.733 was confirmed. This research sets preconditions for practical implementation of launches of SOLVs with substantial altitudes of the apogee, while limiting the areas reserved for falling parts of the rockets. Availability of such SOLVs will enable solution of a wide range of problems in many fields of scientific research and the use of SOLVs as platforms for working out new technical solutions for other branches of rocketry

The article presents the results of an experimental study of the stress-strain state of damaged stone columns. It includes an overview of the general research methodology and methods for addressing specific tasks. Detailed descriptions are provided of the strength testing methods for individual elements of brickwork, including bricks and cement-sand mortar. The article also introduces the technology for manufacturing and testing the eccentric compression of stone columns of various cross-sections. A matrix of the conducted experiment is presented, which includes levels and varying factors such as the depth of damage to elements, eccentricity of load application, and angle of inclination of the damage front along one of the principal cross-sectional axes. The experiment's results reveal the most adverse factor affecting load-bearing capacity. Additionally, a calculation and analysis of the safety margin are performed based on the examination of the materials used, which are not considered in calculating the load-bearing capacity of the damaged stone column.

Contribution of BRCA1 5382insC mutation to triplene-gative and luminal types of breast cancer in Ukraine
2022
Purpose
The gene BRCA1 plays a key role in DNA repair in breast and ovarian cell lines and this is considered one of target tumor suppressor genes in same line of cancers. The 5382insC mutation is among the most frequently detected in patients (Eastern Europe) with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). In Ukraine, there is not enough awareness of necessity to test patients with TNBC for BRCA1 mutations. That is why this group of patients is not well-studied, even through is known the mutation may affect the course of disease.
Methods
The biological samples of 408 female patients were analyzed of the 5382insC mutation in BRCA1. We compared the frequency of the 5382insC mutation in BRCA1 gene observed in Ukraine with known frequencies in other countries.
Results
For patients with TNBC, BRCA1 mutations frequency was 11.3%, while in patients with luminal types of breast cancers, the frequency was 2.8%. Prevalence of 5382insC among TNBC patients reported in this study was not different from those in Tunisia, Poland, Russia, and Bulgaria, but was higher than in Australia and Germany.
Conclusion
The BRCA1 c.5382 mutation rate was recorded for the first time for TNBC patients in a Ukrainian population. The results presented in this study underscore the importance of this genetic testing of mutations in patients with TNBC. Our study supports BRCA1/2 genetic testing for all women diagnosed with TNBC, regardless of the age of onset or family history of cancer and not only for women diagnosed with TNBC at <60y.o., as guidelines recommend.

Methodology for evaluating special fitness and competitive activity of highly skilled kayakers
2023
Purpose: development of methodology for individual evaluating special fitness and competitive activity of highly skilled kayakers. Material & Methods: Participants. Fifty six athletes were involved in the tests (mean age 22.78±2.57 years, body mass 84.82±12.90 kg, body height 190.59±7.79 cm; here and below mean values ± standard deviation, A/±s.d., are shown). All tested subjects were qualified rowing athletes, the participants and winners of the Ukrainian national and international competitions. Methods. The work included two experimental series. The first one was carried out on a rowing training machine \"Concept-2\" (USA). This simulator allows the rower to perform movements rather close to those in real rowing; detailed mechanographic characteristics of these movements can be recorded simultaneously. Recording of mechanograms of the movements and EMGs from the involved muscles was performed using a specialized complex \"Noraxon's 3D MyoMotion\" (Noraxon Inc., USA). Results: The rationality of the rower's movement structure is largely determined by the character of work and interaction of the posterior and anterior bundles of the deltoid muscle, which perform the rower's arm movements during applying both \"pulling\" and \"pushing\" efforts. The following causes of individual rowing technique errors significantly affecting sports result were identified: general muscle rigidity, lack of sufficiently complete and timely muscle relaxation; untimely involvement of muscles in work (appearance of mutual activity zones of antagonist muscles); late start of muscle activity (inertial moments of movement of rower's body biolinks are not provided before water entrapment); protracted, too long muscle activity (movement is performed entirely at the expense of muscular activity, without the use of inertial and propelling forces); low speed of muscle engagement in work leading, as a rule, to the \"drop\" of efforts on the oar. Two groups of athletes with diametrically opposite levels of physical capacity development and one group, which was characterized by their uniform development, were distinguished. Conclusions: All rowers are divided into two groups. The first group is characterized by rational coordination of movements at the beginning of the distance covering and pronounced disturbances in the work dynamics of the muscles of the body turn and the nature of effort applied to the oar at the end of the distance. In the second group, we encounter the opposite phenomenon: with an irrational movement structure at the beginning of the distance, there is a transition of work to a more correct character at the end of its covering.

Research into the crushing and grinding processes of iron ore with its simultaneous effect by mechanical load and electric field of ultra-high frequency
2019
Main properties of the processes of iron ore destruction in terms of its simultaneous effect by mechanical load and electric field of ultra-high frequency have been studied. That was compared with the case when only mechanical load is applied. Theoretically, it has been proved that in the first case, quartz crystals accumulate more energy, and this effect is manifested mostly in terms of resonance. For the first time, the iron ore samples of cubic geometry were tested using a non-uniform volumetric compression unit. Application of the ultrahigh frequency field resulted in ultimate strength reduction by 1.5 – 2.0 times and significant increase in plasticity of the destruction. At the same time, density of the sample destruction energy in a volume unit is significantly lower than that in the case of mechanical load (1.05 and 2.6 MJ/m 3 , respectively). There is also a tendency of reducing large fraction yield and increasing fine fraction yield along with the increase up to 11% in iron content in the products after grinding. The results of theoretical and numerous experimental studies have been substantiated the necessity to continue the research and development work on adapting the proposed jaw crusher to the production conditions.
