Climate change refers to long-term alterations in climate patterns across various regions of the world. As per the data availability and explanations given by different researchers, human exercises, particularly the burning of coal, deforestation, and the use of oil, have increased the temperature of the Earth by significantly improving the engagement of heat-absorbing gases in the environment. The above-stated ratio will increase proportionally in the future. Therefore, climate change is one of our biggest global challenges, and urgent action must be taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and adapt to its effects, and ensure a long and healthy life for all. This paper examines the different aspects of the effects of climate change on different ecosystem elements, such as air, water, plants, animals, and human beings, with a notable focus on economic aspects. Finally, to better understand the situation, data in this report were collected from different media platforms, research mechanisms, guideline papers, newspapers, and other references. This review paper considers climate change mitigation and transformation worldwide in different sectors like human health, crop productivity, and the related economic impact. The conclusions emphasize that government monitoring is essential for countries' long-term growth through responsible resource management.

East Kolkata Wetlands (EKW) is an important site for fish culture in sewage-fed areas, which are major receivers of pollutants and wastages from Kolkata. EKW is internationally important as the Ramsar site was declared on Aug 2002 with an area of 125 km

. EKW is a natural water body where wastewater-fed natural aquaculture has been practiced for more than 70 years. It is ecologically vulnerable due to the discharge of toxic waste through sewage canals from cities. Assessing the EKW to understand the inflow and load of the toxic metal (s) in fish, water, and sediments samples is essential. The field (samples collection from 13 sites) and lab (determination of toxic level of metals) based research were carried out to assess metal toxicity and health risk assessment in EKW. The levels of eighteen metals (18), namely Chromium, Vanadium, Cobalt, Manganese, Copper, Nickel, Zinc, Silver, Molybdenum, Arsenic, Selenium, Tin, Gallium, Germanium, Strontium, Cadmium, Mercury, and Lead, were determined using Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in five fish tissues viz. muscle, liver, kidney, gill and brain, along with the water samples and soil sediments in 13 sampling sites. The bioaccumulation and concentration of metals in fish tissues, soil sediments, and water samples were well within the safe level concerning the recommendation of different national and international agencies except for a few metals in a few sampling sites like Cd, As, and Pb. The geoaccumulation index (Igeo) was also determined in the soil sediments, indicating moderate arsenic, selenium, and mercury contamination in a few sites. The contamination index in water was also determined in 13 sampling sites. The estimated daily intake (EDI), reference dose (RfD), target hazard quotient (THQ), slope factor and cancer risk of Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Cd, Pb and Hg from fish muscle were determined. Based on the results of the present investigation, it is concluded that fish consumption in the East Kolkata Wetland (EKW) is safe. The effects of bioaccumulation of metals in muscle tissue were well within the safe level for consumption as recommended by WHO/FAO.

IFND: a benchmark dataset for fake news detection

Spotting fake news is a critical problem nowadays. Social media are responsible for propagating fake news. Fake news propagated over digital platforms generates confusion as well as induce biased perspectives in people. Detection of misinformation over the digital platform is essential to mitigate its adverse impact. Many approaches have been implemented in recent years. Despite the productive work, fake news identification poses many challenges due to the lack of a comprehensive publicly available benchmark dataset. There is no large-scale dataset that consists of Indian news only. So, this paper presents IFND (Indian fake news dataset) dataset. The dataset consists of both text and images. The majority of the content in the dataset is about events from the year 2013 to the year 2021. Dataset content is scrapped using the Parsehub tool. To increase the size of the fake news in the dataset, an intelligent augmentation algorithm is used. An intelligent augmentation algorithm generates meaningful fake news statements. The latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) technique is employed for topic modelling to assign the categories to news statements. Various machine learning and deep-learning classifiers are implemented on text and image modality to observe the proposed IFND dataset's performance. A multi-modal approach is also proposed, which considers both textual and visual features for fake news detection. The proposed IFND dataset achieved satisfactory results. This study affirms that the accessibility of such a huge dataset can actuate research in this laborious exploration issue and lead to better prediction models.

Microgreens, a hypothesized term used for the emerging food product that is developed from various commercial food crops, such as vegetables, grains, and herbs, consist of developed cotyledons along with partially expanded true leaves. These immature plants are harvested between 7–21 days (depending on variety). They are treasured for their densely packed nutrients, concentrated flavors, immaculate and tender texture as well as for their vibrant colors. In recent years, microgreens are on demand from high-end restaurant chefs and nutritional researchers due to their potent flavors, appealing sensory qualities, functionality, abundance in vitamins, minerals, and other bioactive compounds, such as ascorbic acid, tocopherol, carotenoids, folate, tocotrienols, phylloquinones, anthocyanins, glucosinolates, etc. These qualities attracted research attention for use in the field of human health and nutrition. Increasing public concern regarding health has prompted humans to turn to microgreens which show potential in the prevention of malnutrition, inflammation, and other chronic ailments. This article focuses on the applications of microgreens in the prevention of the non-communicable diseases that prevails in the current generation, which emerged due to sedentary lifestyles, thus laying a theoretical foundation for the people creating awareness to switch to the recently introduced category of vegetable and providing great value for the development of health-promoting diets with microgreens.

The relic density of Dark Matter (DM) in the freeze-in scenario is highly dependent on the evolution history of the universe and changes significantly in a non-standard (NS) cosmological framework prior to Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN). In this scenario, an additional species dominates the energy budget of the universe at early times (before BBN), resulting in a larger cosmological expansion rate at a given temperature compared to the standard radiation-dominated (RD) universe. To investigate the production of DM in the freeze-in scenario, we consider both standard RD and NS cosmological picture before BBN and perform a comparative analysis. We extend the Standard Model (SM) particle content with a SM singlet DM particle
χ
and an axion-like particle (ALP)
a
. The interactions between ALP, SM particles, and DM are generated by higher dimensional effective operators. This setup allows the production of DM
χ
from SM bath through the mediation of ALP, via ALP-portal processes. These interactions involve non-renormalizable operators, leading to ultraviolet (UV) freeze-in, which depends on the reheating temperature (
T
RH
) of the early universe. In the NS cosmological scenario, the faster expansion rate suppresses the DM production processes, allowing for enhanced effective couplings between the visible and dark sectors to satisfy the observed DM abundance compared to RD scenario. This improved coupling increases the detection prospects for freeze-in DM via the ALP-portal, which is otherwise challenging to detect in RD universe due to small couplings involved. Using an effective field theory set-up, we show that various ALP searches such as in FASER, DUNE, and SHiP, etc. will be able to probe significant parameter space depending on the different model parameters.

Small scale lowpass and quad-band bandpass filter for 5G application

This work offers a new small-scaled lowpass and quad-band passband filter with low insertion loss and high selectivity. By integrating a shorted interdigital capacitor (IDC), closed ring resonator, meander line, and rectangular-shaped virtual ground plane, better impedance matching and transmission properties have been attained. Initially, the lowpass response structure comprises shorted IDC and closed ring resonators. Further utilizing pairs of meander lines and rectangular stubs on both sides of ring resonators, a quad bandpass along with a lowpass filter was constructed. Excluding the fifty-ohm feedline the proposed filter area measures only 0.04

(15.6 mm×24.6 mm) at the lowpass frequency of 3dB cutoff, 0.75 GHz. The fractional bandwidth at 3-dB of the proposed four passband zones are 63.76% (1.39–2.78 GHz), 22.55% (3.26–4.09 GHz), 17.15% (4.42–5.24 GHz), and 4.3% (5.64–5.89 GHz) at operating frequencies of 02.18, 3.68, 4.78 and 5.82 GHz, respectively. Moreover, the resonance frequencies of each band can be adjusted by altering the structural parameters of the intended filter, which results in modifications to their relative lumped parameters. By doing experimental measurements that correlate with simulated ones, the suggested filter is validated. The designed filter may be useful for 5G communication frequency range-1 (FR1), 0.45–6.0 GHz bands.
