Coal reserves suitable, in prospect, for underground mining by means of robot-based system of roof coal release are situated in Bachatskey, Yerunakovskey, Kemerovskey, Leninskey, Prokopyevsk-Kiselyevskey and Tom’-Usinskey geological-economic regions of Kuzbass, in the coal seams with the thickness of more than 5 meters and the depth of 600 meters and total about 3 billion tons.

The dynamics of the activity and selectivity of bifunctional platinum tungstated zirconia PtWZ catalyst in the hydroisomerization of n-heptane and heptane–benzene mixture is discussed in the paper. The change in the properties of the catalyst before and after reaction were characterized using different techniques. The catalyst showed high efficiency for the hydroisomerization of heptane and heptane–benzene mixture, however, deactivation occurred with time on stream, more significantly when benzene was present in the reaction mixture. The carbonaceous matter was deposited on the catalyst (up to 0.8%) during the hydroisomerization reaction. Predominantly aliphatic carbonaceous «poly-CxHy» species, much less oxidized and little aromatic «graphite-like» species were identified by XPS spectra on the catalyst after the heptane isomerization. In the presence of benzene, the formation of «graphite-like» matter increased progressively as temperature increased. However, no appreciable changes in the bulk properties of the t-ZrO2 matrix (phase composition, specific surface area, pore volume, pore size distribution) and in the state of platinum component were revealed, though an increased extent of W6+ to W5+ reduction was detected by XPS spectra irrespectively of the reaction conditions. The deactivation of the PtWZ catalyst was suggested to result from the blocking the active centers by carbonaceous deposits, the deactivation of the acidic centers being more pronounced as compared to metallic ones. All the carbonaceous deposits were burned-off completely below 450–500 °C.Graphical Abstract

Comprehensive Characterization of the Molecular Structure and Properties of Pitch-like Products from Coal Dissolution at Mild Temperature Using Heavy Solvents of Coal and Petroleum Origin

The chemical composition and molecular structure of the pitch-like products obtained by liquid-phase reaction of bituminous coal with heavy hydrocarbon fractions of coal and petroleum origin as solvents at a moderate temperature were comprehensively characterized in terms of a new aromatic feedstock for needle coke and other valuable high-tech carbon materials. The molecular parameters of the products were characterized by using FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and XPS. Liquid-phase chromatography was used to analyze benzo(a)pyrene (BaP) as a carcinogenicity marker. The chemical composition and the characteristics of the molecular structure of the products were shown to depend greatly on the solvent used. The product obtained using coal tar as a solvent was highly aromatic, its polyaromatic nuclei consisted predominantly of protonated and pericondensed cycles sparsely substituted by CH3 and occasionally CH2 groups. The product obtained using petroleum-derived heavy gas oil as solvent was much less aromatic and prone to autogenous surface oxidation. Its aromatic nuclei contained mainly protonated and highly alkylated catacondensed chains. The intermediate structural parameters were characteristic of the product obtained using binary solvent. A remarkable feature of the pitch-like products obtained was a reduced BaP concentration (up to 40 times compared to typical coal-tar pitch). In terms of the molecular structure, the pitch-like products obtained by low-temperature dissolution of coal can serve as a new polyaromatic feedstock with a reduced carcinogenicity for the production of valuable high-tech carbon materials, needle coke, in particular.

Improving Approach to Conditions’ Statistical Assessment for Ukraine Banking Sector Competitive Development Under the Foreign Banks Presence in the Financial Market

It is substantiated that most of the existing methods and models for assessing the development of the banking sector of the economy do not take into account the competitive conditions for banks of different groups – with national capital and foreign banking groups. This determines the relevance of the study to improve the methodical approach to statistical assessment of competitive conditions in the development of the banking sector in the presence of foreign banks in the financial market. The scientific work proposes to assess the competitive conditions in the banking sector, in particular those created for domestic banks under the influence of foreign presence, by the level of the coefficient of competitive internalization. Eight gradations of the coefficient level were established by the expert method. Due to the use of mathematical calculation method and official statistics, it was found that the level of competitive internalization in the banking sector of Ukraine over the past decade is mostly dangerous, with a tendency to deteriorate. The coefficients of competitive internalization for the banking sectors of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the European Union have been calculated. It is determined that the level of influence of foreign banks in the banking sector of Ukraine can be compared with the conditions of competitive development of national banks of Moldova and Slovenia. The use of competitive internalization coefficient in practice as a statistical data will create a basis for determining the direction of integration processes. We are convinced that the integration of Ukrainian banks into the banking sector of Moldova or Slovenia is possible.

Study of Structural and Catalytic Properties of Pt/WOх/ZrO₂, Modified by Lanthanum Cations
The effect of the addition of La3+ cations on the structural properties of Pt/WOх/ZrO₂ catalysts and the characteristics of catalytic activity in the process of hydroisomerization of n-heptane and benzene mixture was studied. The phase composition of the catalysts is represented by a solid solution of lanthanum cations in nanocrystalline zirconia of tetragonal modification with localization of lanthanum in the surface layers predominantly. The physicochemical properties of the partially spent catalyst Pt-Re-Cl/Al^sub 2^O^sub 3^ reforming of petroleum fractions (R-98 UOP) have been studied. It has been found that during operation of the catalyst, a reduction of textural characteristics, chemical composition, partial phase transformation of alumina support, and accumulation of metallic impurities and carbon deposits take place. The DSC method has been found the presence on the surface of the catalyst of various types of carbonaceous deposits burnable at different temperatures. Their removal is complete at temperatures 500-550 °C.

The review provides information on the mechanisms underlying the development of spontaneous and pathogen-induced tumors in higher plants. The activation of meristem-specific regulators in plant tumors of various origins suggests the meristem-like nature of abnormal plant hyperplasia.
Plant tumor formation has more than a century of research history. The study of this phenomenon has led to a number of important discoveries, including the development of the
Agrobacterium-
mediated transformation technique and the discovery of horizontal gene transfer from bacteria to plants. There are two main groups of plant tumors: pathogen-induced tumors (e.g., tumors induced by bacteria, viruses, fungi, insects, etc.), and spontaneous ones, which are formed in the absence of any pathogen in plants with certain genotypes (e.g., interspecific hybrids, inbred lines, and mutants). The causes of the transition of plant cells to tumor growth are different from those in animals, and they include the disturbance of phytohormonal balance and the acquisition of meristematic characteristics by differentiated cells. The aim of this review is to discuss the mechanisms underlying the development of most known examples of plant tumors.
