\"People, I think, are getting smart in the economy,\" said Teri Mairet, manager of a thrift store in Gladstone, Mo. \"And telling their neighbor, 'Hey, look what I got. Guess how much I paid.' \" As the organization begins closing smaller stores and replacing them with superstores, \"everything that comes into the store stays right there,\" he said. \"So now it's your neighbor's stuff. It's nice stuff.\" Goodwill also has been opening superstores. \"I believe the old saying, 'You've got about three to eight seconds to make an impression,' \" he said. \"And when I have a customer walk in, I want them to go, 'Wow, wow, wow.' \"

[Kate Middleton]'s full name is Catherine Elizabeth Middleton. Friends and the public know her as Kate. But when the royal family announced the engagement this week, they referred to her as Catherine. Said aides: \"Her parents have always called her that. It is what she is called.\" \"We finally have two nice tall people in the royal family, after so many short ones,\" said designer Bruce Oldfield, who made clothing for Diana. \"Kate and [William] are two giants.\" According to the author of William and Harry: Behind the Palace Walls, William first saw freshman Kate at a charity fashion show in early 2002. She was wearing a black bra and panties under a see-through dress on the runway. William, according to one biographer, told a friend: \"Kate's hot.\"

Space visitors to help tornado-ruined town ; For Greensburg, Kan., meteorite auction is fitting
\"Greensburg is a historic meteorite town,\" said raffle organizer Geoff Notkin. \"Now it's time to help the people who made it all possible.\" Interest in the strewnfield had largely died off in the past 50 years until an Arkansas man named Steve Arnold came along in 2005. After two weeks of digging in a farmer's field near Greensburg, Arnold discovered \"the mother lode\" of the Brenham strewnfield a 1,430-pound meteorite now on display at Kansas City's Union Station. Arnold's record find is not among them, however. He hasn't decided what to do with a rock that some have valued at $3 million, so it's been traveling from outer space, via Greensburg.
