MagMap: A Parallel Decoding Scheme for Weak RFID Signals Using Middle State Points and Magnitude Extraction

As RFID systems become increasingly widespread, the limitations imposed by tag collisions on system performance are becoming more evident. Parallel decoding has attracted significant attention due to its ability to improve channel utilization and throughput. However, existing schemes often perform poorly when decoding weak signals. Several challenges remain, including the assumption of ideal channel conditions, difficulty in detecting tag state transitions, and the complexity of state cluster formations in the In-phase and Quadrature (IQ) domain. To address the above issues, this paper first experimentally verifies the ability of middle state points to segment tag states, and proposes a time-window-based pre-processing method to improve the density of state clusters in the IQ domain. Second, by leveraging the high vertical resolution of the reader, we propose an ideal magnitude calculation method and a matching strategy for combined state clusters under weak signal conditions. Finally, we propose MagMap, a parallel decoding scheme based on middle state points and magnitude extraction. Experimental results demonstrate that, under weak signal conditions, MagMap reduces the decoding BER (Bit Error Ratio) of received packets by more than 60% compared to the state-of-the-art.

The network characteristics of classic red tourist attractions in Shaanxi province, China

Red tourism is a distinctive form of tourism in China. Its network attention serves as a typical indicator to measure the level of promotion and publicity for red tourism, as well as an important reflection of its influence. Understanding the network structure of red tourism is of significant importance for optimizing the spatial pattern of tourism and promoting the development of the tourism industry. Based on this, this study takes the classic red tourism attractions in Shaanxi province, China as an example and constructs a multi-source data network attention evaluation index. Additionally, it employs social network theory to explore the network attention and tourist flow characteristics of the case study area. Research shows that: (1) Overall, the network attention to case-based destinations is relatively low, and there are significant differences in network attention among different attractions. Spatially, the distribution of network attention is uneven. This is manifested by higher network attention to attractions in Yan’an city and lower network attention to attractions in other regions. (2) There are differences in the network attention of different types of attractions. High-level attractions have a higher level of online attention, while low-level attractions have a lower level of network attention. Additionally, archaeological sites tend to receive a higher level of online attention. (3) The network density of tourist flow is low, and the tourism connections between nodes are not closely linked. The linkage between core nodes and edge nodes in tourism is poor. Developed tourism routes only exist in core nodes. (4) Nodes such as Zaoyuan revolution site, Yangjialing revolution site, and Wangjiaping revolution site have a significant influence in the network structure. In addition, the integration and development between red nodes and non-red nodes have been achieved. (5) There is a correlation between network attention and tourist flow, as well as a ‘misplacement’ feature. Based on the characteristics of attractions, they can be divided into four types: bright-star attractions, cash-cow attractions, thin-dog attractions, and question attractions. Based on the above conclusions, this study proposes targeted development recommendations.

Exploring the influence of historical storytelling on cultural heritage tourists’ revisit intention: A case study of the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang

The revisit intention of tourists has long been a focal point of academic inquiry. However, there is still insufficient research on the antecedents of revisit intention from the perspectives of historical storytelling, destination image and perceived value. Taking the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as a case study, this paper, based on stimulus–organism–response (SOR) theory, examines the impact of historical storytelling on the destination image, perceived value, and revisit intention. Additionally, it further explores the mediating role of destination image and perceived value, as well as the moderating effect of place attachment in this chain. The research findings indicate that: (1) Historical storytelling significantly enhances tourists’ perception of the tourism experience and revisit intention; (2) The study supports the mediating effect of destination image and perceived value; (3) Place attachment has a significant positive moderating effect between historical storytelling and revisit intention. Effective historical storytelling can significantly enhance destination image and perceived value, improve tourists’ participation and satisfaction in tourism, stimulate revisit intention, and promote the sustainable development of tourist destinations. These findings enrich the research content of cultural heritage tourism, providing valuable suggestions for improving the management level of cultural heritage tourism attractions and increasing visitors’ revisit intention.

MiR-30b-5p attenuates neuropathic pain by the CYP24A1-Wnt/β-catenin signaling in CCI rats

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) has been reported to act as key regulators of neuronal function. Increasing evidence has showed that miRNAs exert significant effects in neuropathic pain. We explored the role of miR-30b-5p in neuropathic pain by establishing a rat model of chronic constrictive injury (CCI). The sciatic nerve of CCI rats was used to induce chronic neuropathic pain. The expression and cellular distribution of miR-30b-5p were determined by RT-qPCR and FISH. The mRNA level, protein level, and cellular distribution of CYP24A1 were detected by RT-qPCR, western blot, and immunofluorescence staining assays, respectively. The interaction between miR-30b-5p and CYP24A1 was examined by a luciferase reporter assay. The behavioral effects of miR-30b-5p were assessed after intrathecal administration. Mechanical stimuli and radiant heat were applied to assess mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia of rats. ELISA was performed to measure the concentration of inflammatory cytokines. MiR-30b-5p expression was significantly downregulated in the spinal cord tissues and of CCI rats. Overexpression of miR-30b-5p attenuated symptoms of neuropathic pain, including mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia. Additionally, miR-30b-5p overexpression suppressed neuroinflammation by reducing the levels of IL-6, TNF-α and COX2 and elevating the levels of IL-10 in CCI rats. Mechanistically, CYP24A1 was a target of miR-30b-5p, and its expression was negatively regulated by miR-30b-5p. Moreover, CYP24A1 expression was upregulated in CCI rats and knockdown of CYP24A1 attenuated neuropathic pain and neuroinflammation. Furthermore, miR-30b-5p reduced the levels of the Wnt pathway-related genes in CCI rats by downregulating CYP24A1. Rescue assays showed that overexpression of CYP24A1 or activation of Wnt pathway reduced the alleviative effects of miR-30b-5p overexpression on neuropathic pain in CCI rats. Overall, miR-30b-5p inhibits neuropathic pain progression in CCI rats by inhibiting the CYP24A1-Wnt/β-catenin pathway.

Robot-assisted functional minimally invasive radical resection of esophageal cancer

Background
Recently, robot-assisted surgical systems have become more and more popular, but have not been reported in functional minimally invasive radical resection of esophageal cancer,which preserves the mediastinal pleura, the azygos arch, bronchial artery, and pulmonary branch of the vagus nerve.
Methods
Retrospective analysis of all patients in our hospital who underwent surgery for esophageal cancer from September 2022 to February 2024. Robot-assisted functional minimally invasive esophagectomy (RAFMIE)was performed for 44 patients who were compared with 66 functional minimally invasive esophagectomy (FMIE) cases.
Result
Significantly, shorter operation time was taken in RAFMIE (222.98 ± 28.02 vs 250.45 ± 30.25 min

< 0.001), thoracic operation time (75.50 ± 14.23 vs 89.59 ± 16.34 min

< 0.001), abdominal operation time (51.93 ± 14.18 vs 71.75 ± 14.85 min

Conclusion
Early results suggest that RAFMIE is safe and feasible for the treatment of esophageal cancer. The operation time of RAFMIE is shorter than FMIE, and the lymph node dissection results are better. Long-term results need to be further investigated.

Optimal conditions and nitrogen removal performance of aerobic denitrifier Comamonas sp. pw-6 and its bioaugmented application in synthetic domestic wastewater treatment

To assess the possibility of using aerobic denitrification (AD) bacteria with high NO2−-N accumulation for nitrogen removal in wastewater treatment, conditional optimization, as well as sole and mixed nitrogen source tests involving AD bacterium, Comamonas sp. pw-6 was performed. The results showed that the optimal carbon source, pH, C/N ratio, rotational speed, and salinity for this strain were determined to be succinate, 7, 20, 160 rpm, and 0%, respectively. Further, this strain preferentially utilized NH4+-N, NO3−-N, and NO2−-N, and when NO3−-N was its sole nitrogen source, 92.28% of the NO3−-N (150 mg·L−1) was converted to NO2−-N. However, when NH4+-N and NO3−-N constituted the mixed nitrogen source, NO3−-N utilization by this strain was significantly lower (p < 0.05). Therefore, a strategy was proposed to combine pw-6 bacteria with traditional autotrophic nitrification to achieve the application of pw-6 bacteria in NH4+-N-containing wastewater treatment. Bioaugmented application experiments showed significantly higher NH4+-N removal (5.96 ± 0.94 mg·L−1·h−1) and lower NO3−-N accumulation (2.52 ± 0.18 mg·L−1·h−1) rates (p < 0.05) than those observed for the control test. Thus, AD bacteria with high NO2−-N accumulation can also be used for practical applications, providing a basis for expanding the selection range of AD strains for wastewater treatment.

Investigation on Preparation and Performance of High Ga CIGS Absorbers and Their Solar Cells

Tandem solar cells usually use a wide band gap absorber for top cell. The band gap of CuIn(1−x)GaxSe2 can be changed from 1.04 eV to 1.68 eV with the ratio of Ga/(In+Ga) from 0 to 1. When the ratio of Ga/(In+Ga) is over 0.7, the band gap of CIGS absorber is over 1.48 eV. CIGS absorber with a high Ga content is a possible candidate one for the top cell. In this work, CuInGa precursors were prepared by magnetron sputtering with CuIn and CuGa targets, and CIGS absorbers were prepared by selenization annealing. The Ga/(In+Ga) is changed by changing the thickness of CuIn and CuGa layers. Additionally, CIGS solar cells were prepared using CdS buffer layer. The effects of Ga content on CIGS thin film and CIGS solar cell were studied. The band gap was measured by PL and EQE. The results show that using structure of CuIn/CuGa precursors can make the band gap of CIGS present a gradient band gap, which can obtain a high open circuit voltage and high short circuit current of the device. With the decrease in Ga content, the efficiency of the solar cell increases gradually. Additionally, the highest efficiency of the CIGS solar cells is 11.58% when the ratio of Ga/(In+Ga) is 0.72. The value of Voc is 702 mV. CIGS with high Ga content shows a great potential for the top cell of the tandem solar cell.

Resolvin D1 combined with exercise rehabilitation alleviates neurological injury in mice with intracranial hemorrhage via the BDNF/TrkB/PI3K/AKT pathway

Resolvin D1 (RvD1) is an endogenous anti-inflammatory mediator that modulates the inflammatory response and promotes inflammation resolution. RvD1 has demonstrated neuroprotective effects in various central nervous system contexts; however, its role in the pathophysiological processes of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and the potential protective mechanisms when combined with exercise rehabilitation remain unclear. A mouse model of ICH was established using collagenase, and treatment with RvD1 combined with three weeks of exercise rehabilitation significantly improved neurological deficits, muscle strength, learning, and memory in ICH mice while reducing anxiety-like behavior. RvD1 combined with exercise rehabilitation upregulated anti-inflammatory factors, inhibited the inflammatory state, and activated the BDNF/TrkB/PI3K/AKT pathway. TUNEL staining confirmed a decrease in residual apoptotic neurons, while transmission electron microscopy showed an increase in mitochondrial autophagosomes with combined treatment. Mendelian randomization and molecular docking further confirmed the association of RvD1 with targets related to mitophagy and inflammatory factors, clarifying the mechanism of RvD1 involvement. In summary, RvD1 combined with exercise rehabilitation activates the BDNF/TrkB/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, effectively reduces neuronal apoptosis and inflammatory responses following ICH in mice, and participates in mitochondrial autophagy-related states. This comprehensive therapeutic strategy promotes neurological recovery and provides insights for clinical management of this condition.

Previous studies have found the increased levels of transferrin (Tf) modified by advanced-glycation-end-products (AGE-Tf) in the serum of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and the kidneys of diabetic rats. The study aimed to investigate the effects of AGE-Tf on human podocytes in vitro. AGE-Tf was prepared by incubating Tf with different concentrations of glucose (0 mM, 5.6 mM, 11.1 mM, and 33.3 mM) in vitro. Podocytes were treated with AGE-Tf produced at different concentrations of glucose, and rescue experiments include AGE-Tf + deferoxamine mesylate (DFO), AGE-Tf + Ferrostatin-1 (Fer-1, inhibitors of ferroptosis), and AGE-Tf + advanced glycation end-product receptor (RAGE) antagonist peptide (RAP) groups. The total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), lipid peroxidation (LPO), and malonic dialdehyde (MDA) were measured, and the expression levels of glutathione peroxidase 4 (
GPX4
), acyl-coenzyme A (CoA) synthetase long-chain family member 4 (
ACSL4
), and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (
NRF2
) were analyzed. In vitro, with increasing glucose levels, the degree of glycation of Tf increased gradually, and the total iron binding capacity decreased gradually. When podocytes were treated by AGE-Tf, podocyte activity decreased, and apoptosis increased. Antioxidant capacity decreased, and LPO and ROS levels increased. The expression of

AGE-Tf may mediate oxidative stress and ferroptosis in podocytes via AGE/RAGE.
